Ketterer Kunst appoints new Head of Contemporary Art
Lena Winter studied art history in Cologne and Zurich.

MUNICH.- At the beginning of 2020 all signs continue to point to expansion at Ketterer Kunst. Introducing Lena Winter as Head of Contemporary Art, Germany‘s leading art auctioneer adds more weight to this department.

“I am particularly happy that we are able to increase our focus on Contemporary Art with such an experienced expert and that our clients will benefit from an even better and more personal service“, says company owner Robert Ketterer.

Lena Winter studied art history in Cologne and Zurich. During this time she already gained experience in a contemporary art gallery in Cologne. Following her diploma in Switzerland she was active for a Cologne based auction house. Relocating to Berlin one year later she worked for a private collection before she returned to the fine art auction business in 2011. She excelled at an auction house in Germany’s capital as auctioneer and expert for contemporary art. Since January 2020 Lena Winter is Head of Contemporary Art at Ketterer Kunst in Munich.

Founded in 1954, the family company Ketterer Kunst (www.kettererkunst.com and www.ketterer-internet-auctions.com) has its headquarters in Munich and branches in Hamburg, Duesseldorf and Berlin, as well as a global network of representatives in, among others, the USA and Brazil. It is one of the leading auction houses for Fine Art from the 19th to the 21st Century and Rare Books. While the annual balance issued by the artnet Price Database for 2019 ranks Ketterer Kunst on place 11 world-wide for art after 1900, the company is the world’s top selling family business for 20tth Century Art.
