Brooks Museum Produces Collection Catalogue

MEMPHIS, TN.- Memphis Brooks Museum of Art has produced a professional, full-color catalogue highlighting 130 works from its permanent collection. The text features full descriptions and professional photographs of the selected works, as well as an essay on the museum's 88-year history by museum director, Kaywin Feldman. The last collection catalogue for the Brooks was produced nearly 20 years ago.

"The hardest task in producing Collection Highlights from the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art was the selection of the works to be included. We worked diligently to compile the final list of collection highlights from more than 8,000 works in the permanent collection," states Ms. Feldman. Eight Brooks' staff members contributed to the essays contained in the catalogue, with numerous ancillary personnel assisting with editing and production.

The works in the catalogue are arranged in four sections: World Art, European Art 1200-1945, American Art 1700-1945, and Modern Art 1945-2004. Collection Highlights from the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art was funded with a generous grant from the Adams Foundation. The catalogue is available to the public for $28.95. To reserve a copy, call the Museum Store at 901.544.6205.
