ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.- The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art offers numerous ways to stay engaged and enriched with newly curated weekly content available online for free. Every Tuesday, “The James Museum from Home” will release a new theme related to the collection and post interactive content for audiences to enjoy. The theme for this week is Cowboys.

“We hope to give our audience respite and delight by sharing the stories of the American West both past and present,” said Laura Hine, executive director of The James Museum. “The James Museum from Home is allowing us all to consider and experience the museum in a whole new way.”

Packed with a variety of materials, “The James Museum from Home” is a fun way the museum can offer an educational and reliable resource from the comfort of home.

Art Spotlights – Learn more about the artists, process and stories behind six selected artworks featuring cowboys.

Movie & Book Recommendations- Take a deep dive into the diverse perspectives on life in the West and get an expansive look at what it means to be a cowboy (and cowgirl).

Story Time- Have the kids read along with these exciting and colorful cowboy-inspired books.

Art Activity- Our Youth & Family Program Manager demonstrates an easy art activity to do at home.

Just for Fun- Enjoy a little bit of computer game nostalgia. Try your luck with the original Oregon Trail game and learn about the realities of 19th-century pioneer life on the Oregon Trail.
