NEW YORK, NY.- Doyle's auction of Prints & Multiples on Wednesday, April 29 at 10am EDT will present a wide range of works spanning the 17th century to the present day. Highlights include works by Gauguin, Miró and Toulouse-Lautrec to Keith Haring, Ellsworth Kelly, and Andy Warhol, as well as prints and ceramics by Picasso. Old Master Prints in the auction are highlighted by three Albrecht Dürer works, including the rare circa 1515 etching, The Desperate Man ($6,000-8,000) and two Rembrandt etchings including Christ and the Woman of Samaria Among the Ruins, 1634 ($6,000-8,000).

European Prints feature two rare color woodcuts by Paul Gauguin including Noa-Noa, 1893-94 ($15,000-20,000); 19th century French color lithograph posters including Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, La Passagere du 54, ou Promenade en Yacht, 1895 ($15,000-25,000) and Alphonse Mucha, Job, 1898 ($3,000-4,000); an impression of Paul Klee’s sought-after color lithograph of The Tightrope Walker (Seiltanzer), 1923 ($12,000-18,000); eight prints by Marc Chagall including Les Saltimbanques, color lithograph, 1969; and offerings by Joan Miró featuring one of the largest prints in his 1979 Gaudí series, Gaudí XXI, color etching and aquatint with collage ($20,000-30,000).

Picasso Ceramics are highlighted by the rare-to-the-market complete 26-piece Service Poisson (Fish Service), 1947 ($60,000-80,000) and the monumental Vase Azteque aux Quatre Visages (Aztec Vase with Four Faces), 1957 ($60,000-80,000).

American Prints include a drypoint by Mary Cassatt, Margot Wearing a Large Bonnet, Seated in An Armchair, circa 1904 ($4,000-6,000); a rare mezzotint by Reynold Henry Weidenaar, The Bridge and the Storm, Mackinac Straits, 1957 ($2,000-3,000); and lithographs by Thomas Hart Benton including The Little Fisherman, 1967 ($2,500-3,500).

Contemporary Prints are highlighted by iconic Andy Warhol screenprints including Marilyn, 1967 ($30,000-50,000); Ellsworth Kelly, Colored Paper Image XIII, colored and pressed paper pulp, 1976 ($30,000-40,000); Wayne Thiebaud, Dark Cake, color woodcut,1983 ($15,000-25,000); and Keith Haring screenprints including Growing #2, 1988 ($20,000-30,000). This sale also features a desirable selection of works by 20th century British artists, including screenprints from the 1973 Rothko Memorial Portfolio by Bridget Riley ($3,000-5,000) and William Scott ($1,500-2,500) and four works by Howard Hodgkin including Moroccan Door, hand-colored color etching with carborundum, 1990-1991 ($6,000-8,000).
