The Most Famous Casino Cheaters

There are plenty of things that people would love to become famous for. But would you like to become known as a famous casino cheater like some of the following?

Cheating Carmichael
The slots of Las Vegas were where the infamous Tommy Glenn Carmichael liked to carry out his stunts and he successfully did so for a good forty years. Having spent all of his working life as a TV repairman, it was easy for Carmichael to rig hundreds of different slots machines in many different Las Vegas casinos so that they worked in his favour without drawing a great deal of attention to himself. As slots changed, so did Carmichael's methods, and he even worked with other notorious cheats to increase the size of the rigging he could achieve. He raked in millions of dollars in rigged cash prizes from slots machines and, although he was caught a couple of times in his 40 years, he was not sentenced properly until 1996. Amazingly, during his time inside, he was even part of the team that helped to discover casino games and create an anti-cheat protection device for slot machines. But whether this was to protect casinos from the people who knew still roamed the streets or to stop himself from being tempted to re-offended, we shall never know!

Master Scammer Marcus
Richard Marcus claimed that he was the best casino cheat ever known to the Vegas Strip, having cheated the casinos of Vegas out of millions of dollars, seemingly easily, over two decades. He had all sorts of different scams up his sleeve for blackjack, poker, roulette, baccarat and multiple other well-known casino games. His techniques vary, but only slightly, and they do run on a theme of hand movements and manipulating the mind of other players and the croupiers involved. Richard Marcus was famous for either losing $5 to $10 or winning $500,000 and then leaving the casino. Though he boasts consistently to this day about his scams and has been blacklisted by every casino in Las Vegas due to them all being aware of his cheating, he has never been charged by the authorities.

Be Patient with Roulette
Supposedly, one of the most famous roulette cheats to ever have lived is that of Garcia-Pelayo, who had a specific theory that the wheels of a roulette game were not as random as they were made out to be. He studied them deeply and even created his own stats on them through the help of a computer system, finding that every single wheel had an imperfection that altered the amount of times that a number may or may not land. Having used this method and winning $2 million dollars in a short space of time, he was banned from all of the casinos in Vegas, but as he had not actually committed an illegal offence, he could not be charged. But the fact that he was able to pull this cheat method off so easily highlighted to the casinos that it was humanly possible and is the reason why the roulette tables are watched so closely today.
