9 Tips for Turning Your Essay Into a Masterpiece

Writing an essay as a college student is something that you can't ever escape. Whichever field you choose, you need to have impeccable essay writing skills in order to keep your GPA up to the mark. Essay writing is the most common way to assess a student's potential as a theoretical and practicing professional. It covers your research skills, analyzing skills, argumentative skills, communication skills, and a lot more.

As a college student, you need to brainstorm a lot for your essay. You have to keep a solid check on coherence, the flow of your arguments, and your grammatical accuracy as well. Sadly, not all students excel at meeting their professors' expectations when it comes to these critical points. To help you understand the do's and don'ts of effective essay writing, here are nine tips you must follow!

1. Strengthen Your Research Area
As a college student, you cannot afford to read a few internet articles and consider it enough for your essay. To turn your essay into a masterpiece, you need to have the most in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of the topic. From marine life to far-flung exoplanets, there's nothing that hasn't been researched about.

What you need to do on your part, is go for a deep dive and dig out all sources of information. Books, journals, research papers, news articles, magazines, etc., each has a different way of relating information. The different perspectives and variety of facts will give you enough leverage to form strong arguments and write from unique angles.

2. Make a Plan
The average deadline for college essays is at least a fortnight. This gives you a total of fourteen days to brainstorm, research, compile, write, proofread, and rewrite. Try to spend enough time in the first two phases so that you understand your topic to write smoothly.

Once you're done with the initial and second drafts, keep the essay away for a day or two. This way, you'll forget much of what you've written. Naturally, you will proofread more minutely, and your essay's quality will improve a lot. After the final editing is done, add your citations, and re-read again if you like.

3. Write a Catchy Introduction
Your only shot at leaving a stunning first impression is your essay's introductory part. Write in a way that grasps the reader's attention from the very first sentences. You can directly address the reader or raise an unexpected question in order to develop some mystery before you jump into the main part.

4. Add Multimedia
When you want your essay to turn out to be a masterpiece, multimedia is a great tool to ensure that. If you have to turn in your essay in a printed format, you can look for free stock photos related to your essay. You can search in online library archives, too. Just make sure you're allowed to use them for your essay. If you have statistical data, you can present it in the form of graphs, pie charts, etc. You can use Canva or other graphic designing apps to create your own visual data charts.

If you're allowed to submit your essay as a soft copy, you can add more forms of multimedia. Videos and GIFs are pretty attractive and can add weight to your reasoning. However, make sure the multimedia don't make your essay too lengthy or strenuous to read. Keep them short and make sure you use them legally.

5. Use the Correct Tone
Whatever you write should be in alignment with the nature of your essay. Is it argumentative? Persuasive? Expository? Or is it just plain narration? While your professor is assigning you the details, you'll also get to know the type of essay you're supposed to write. Needless to say, your tone, your text, and your essay type should be appropriate for each other.

6. Get Professional Help
Students often encounter exceptional scenarios during their studies. They lose a loved one, go through mental or physical weaknesses, or have any other emergency. Given such circumstances, you may occasionally seek professional essay help. If your college professor consents to professional services, you can probably pay someone to write your essay.

You can work with a professional who you're going to pay to write an essay for you. While a professional university essay pay can be quite high, pay for essay is pretty much justified if the service is up to par. You can provide details, work on research, and add your own final touches. However, you can leave these tasks to the writer as well if you trust them enough.

7. Avoid Boredom
Academic writing doesn't necessarily have to be boring, right? You can add a few anecdotes, relate interesting accounts, or add a few fun facts to keep your reader from falling asleep!

8. Find a One-of-a-kind Perspective
Whatever you're writing about, make sure you've read enough to have command over multiple perspectives. This way, you can easily find out what you think of the topic. Having the 5 W's and H of your take on the matter will help you in finding a perspective that's different from others. You can think analogically and come up with a unique way of presenting your argument. While your ideas shouldn't be bogus or flimsy, you can make them sound more attractive and different from others.

9. Write a Suitable Conclusion
Keep your main part convincing and comprehensive enough for you to think of a suitable conclusion. You can add suggestions, raise questions, or imply critique to your essay in this final part. Just try not to get too carried away with your ideas, though. Keep things simple, professional, and practical in your conclusion.
