Alan S. Maltz in the Collection of The Carter Center

ATLANTA, GEORGIA.- Work of fine art photographer Alan S. Maltz in the collection of The Carter Center, Atlanta. Georgia and Residence of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. Four photographs from the project "Visions of Beauty" by artist Alan S. Maltz have been selected for the collection of The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and the private residence of former president and first lady, Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter.

"Visions of Beauty" is an ongoing series created by Maltz that speaks of the wildlife, nature, landscapes, and seascapes of Lee County, a region of southwest Florida that includes Fort Myers and Sanibel. The photographs were personally selected by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter and were presented to them by the artist at the historic Tarpon Lodge located on Pine Island in Lee County. "It was an honor to meet President and Mrs. Carter, " said Maltz. "Their reaction to my artwork is something I will always remember. I am very grateful for the experience. I believe the images in this series represent some of my best work to date. Most of Lee County is a nature lover's paradise therefore I felt at home and at peace while capturing the essence of this magical place."

Sixty images from "Visions of Beauty" will be featured in a permanent exhibition at the new Midfield Terminal of Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers that is scheduled to open in spring 2005. Maltz's project also includes publication of the fine art photography book Visions of Beauty: The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel (Key West, FL: Light Flight Productions), scheduled for release in the fall of 2005.

In addition, Alan S. Maltz's photographs are in private, public, and corporate collections throughout the United States, including those of Hallmark in Kansas City, Missouri; the American Airlines Arena, the NBC Miami Bureau, Carnival Cruise Lines, and Bellsouth in Miami, Florida; and Eaton Corporation in Woodbury, New York. His photography books Miami City of Dreams, Key West Color, and Celebrities of Nature have received awards and recognition from diverse professional organizations, including the Mid-America Publishers Association and the National Association of Independent Publishers. In addition, he was the recipient of a grant from the Cultural Affairs Council of Miami-Dade County.
