Experience Jordanmania with game-used sneakers and unopened 1986 Fleer basketball cards in August 20 Sports auction.

BOSTON, MASS.- Michael Jordan’s game-worn Air Jordan VII sneakers from ‘92 lead the way in Boston-based RR Auction’s Sports sale with online bidding August 13 - August 20.

The incredible Nike Air Jordan VII basketball sneakers personally worn by Chicago Bulls shooting guard Michael Jordan during a game in the 1992 regular season, size 13, white/black with Cardinal red, signed on the heel counter of the left sneaker in black felt tip.

Michael Jordan presented the basketball sneakers during the 1992 season to an NBA Trainer, who then gifted the shoes to the current Consignor.

The 1992 season, and its subsequent Olympic summer, was for Jordan perhaps his most successful. MJ’s sensational play during the 1991-1992 regular season resulted in All-NBA and All-Defensive First Team honors, his eighth All-Star selection, his sixth straight scoring title (30.1 ppg), and his third Most Valuable Player Award. When the playoffs concluded, the Bulls had become back-to-back champs and Jordan, again, was named the Finals MVP with a stat line of 35.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 6.5 apg, and 1.7 spg. His peerless play and leadership carried over into the historic Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympics, where the newly assembled ‘Dream Team’ steamrolled undefeated to a gold medal finish. In addition, the sale includes Larry Bird’s black Converse Star Conquest sneakers worn during a 1991 regular-season game.

Also featured is a complete 36-pack wax box of 1986 Fleer basketball cards—a treasure hunt for high-grade Jordan rookies! These unopened packs offer the opportunity to pull these valuable and iconic rookie cards in high grades, and an impressive three Jordan stickers are guaranteed. No modern card is more treasured than a perfectly centered, sharp-cornered Jordan rookie, and these 36 packs—totaling 432 cards in a 132-card base set—offer a great chance to obtain untouched examples of this classic card.

The sale includes multiple items from sports legends like; Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, Christy Mathewson. Among the top lots included; is a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle baseball card. One of the most recognizable and premiere cards within the hobby, this appealing example has been conservatively assessed by SGC. With slightly higher graded examples realizing prices in excess of six figures, this card offers a tremendous alternative while giving up virtually nothing in the way of aesthetics.

Additional highlights include a Babe Ruth, and Christy Mathewson signed baseball. An immensely star-studded piece of baseball history boasting Ruth and Mathewson, two of the Hall of Fame's inaugural members. This is the only baseball RR Auction has come across with Ruth and Mathewson on it. In addition, it boasts fellow legends Lefty Grove (had the best ERA in the league nine times), Jimmie Foxx (one of only 27 players to hit 500+ home runs), Tris Speaker (sixth all time in career batting average), Al Simmons (top 25 career batting average), Heinie Zimmerman (won the NL Triple Crown in 1912), Chief Bender (3x World Series champion), and John McGraw (second-winningest manager of all time).

Also featured among several Honus Wagner related items is a 1904-11 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet Honus Wagner. In terms of population, the W600 Sporting Life Cabinet of Honus Wagner in uniform is by far rarer and appears in far fewer auctions or collections than the 'Holy Grail' of baseball cards, the T206 Wagner, and it boasts the same iconic portrait.

The sale also includes a 1976 Topps Baseball near complete signed set. The outstanding set of approximately 700 baseball cards — signed on the front in ink or felt tip by the pictured Major Leaguer, with several examples signed by more than one player.
