ST. PETESBURG, RUSSIAN FEDERATION.- Yelena Orlova-Glonbska, who lives in St. Petersburg, has decided to sue the Warsaw National Museum over a collection of 103 paintings valued at several million dollars. She claims the collection belonged to her uncle Yan Poplavsky. According to the Izvestia newspaper, a Russian court recently ruled that the art collection did belong to Yan Poplavsky and that was his heiress Yelena Orlova-Glonbska. The Foreign Ministry of Russia is supporting Yelena Orlova-Glonbska in her lawsuit against the Warsaw museum. Yan Poplavsky died in 1934. The art collection includes paintings byRubens, Tintoretto, Rembrandt and van Dyck. He died in 1934.
