COLOGNE, GERMANY.- Colognes trio of Spring Art Fairs, the 36th Westdeutsche Kunst Messe Köln, KUNSTKÖLN and the 19th Cologne Antiquarian Book Fair, make a powerful combination all concentrated at the same venue and all running at the same time. Scheduled through February 27, the three fairs will be offering top-quality exhibits in their traditional fields of expertise fine art, graphic art and photography, applied art and antiquarian books. A remarkable range of top-quality exhibits of special interest to collectors, museum experts, curators and art lovers will be on show.
For the first time, the three fairs will be staged together on the upper level of Colognes Rheinhallen, in Halls 1, 2 and 3 of the trade fair centre. This year, the Cologne Antiquarian Book Fair will be incorporated into the Westdeutsche Kunst Messe Köln, but will keep its old name and it will function as an independent section of the fair. The two will run side by side and at the same time as KUNSTKÖLN, the International Fair for Art in Limited Editions, Art Brut (Outsider Art), post-1980 Art and Photography. Visitor attractions include an exciting programme of supporting events, exhibitions, guided tours and podium discussions.
The number of exhibitors has been trimmed back to give the public a more concentrated range of top-quality exhibits. Some two hundred leading names in the international art trade - dealers, galleries and antiquarian booksellers from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria and Hungary - will be exhibiting. Over two thousand years of fine art and antiques will be on show, with special focus on Old Masters, 19th-century paintings, classical modern art, post-1980 art, photography, antiquarian books, old master and modern prints, Art Brut (Outsider Art), non-European art, Jugendstil, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, fine furniture, porcelain, glass, silver, jewellery, clocks and watches, antique rugs and textiles.
