6 Biggest Casino Losses

People searching for usa casino sites are drawn to news about huge wins and jumbo-sized jackpots. Everyone hopes to walk away a winner, otherwise why would anybody play? But, too often, people forget that with the chance of winning big, comes the chance of losing big. If you have ever been ahead while playing casino games, then you know how tempting it is to keep pushing your luck. But sometimes even playing at the $1 deposit online casino can lead to the enormous losses a player haven’t expected. Next time you need a nudge to leave the table, you can remind yourself of these unfortunate folks who made headlines for funding the 6 biggest casino losses.

Terry Watanabe – 205 million
In 2007, at Rio and Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, this American businessman lost a whopping $205,000,000. To put it another way, 5.6% of Caesars total revenue that year was made up of Watanabe’s loss. According to witnesses, this whale’s reckless gambling streak centered around high stakes games like blackjack and poker.

After being sued by the casino for non-payment of his debt, he counter-sued for failure to stop him from continuing to gamble even though he was visibly drunk and obviously in trouble. The lawsuit was settled privately, and it is believed that he paid only $100,000 towards his gambling debt. The casino did face a fine $225,000 for failure to act responsibly by not providing him assistance.

Watanabe checked into a rehab center for gambling addiction in 2008 and is said that he has not gambled since.

Kerry Packer – 28 million
In 1999, Australian tycoon, Kerry Packer lost about $28,000,000 million at Crockford's Casino in London. Parker died in 2005, but he still holds the record for the biggest gambling loss in Britain.

He was famous for his cavalier attitude towards his gambling habits. He enjoyed the thrill and expressed his opinion that he did not regret any of his losses. He loved everything about casinos and would sometimes offer generous gifts to the staff, including paying off one lucky waitress’s entire mortgage note.

Frank Saracakis - 13 million
In 1994, Greek automobile magnate, Frank Saracakis, lost $13,000,000 playing roulette at Crockford’s Casino in London. This wasn’t the first time he lost big playing roulette, it is reported that he lost a similar amount playing at the Ritz, in 1988.

Akio Kashiwagi – 10 million
Japanese real estate mogul, Akio Kashiwagi (nicknamed “the warrior”), lost $10,000,000 on one single bet while playing baccarat at the Trump Casino in Atlantic City. At the time of his death in 1992, he still owed $5 million to the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and $4 million to the Las Vegas Hilton.

Faroud al-Zayat - 3.5 million
Known for his love of roulette and his penchant for placing huge bets, Syrian citizen, Faroud al-Zayat (nicknamed “fat man” for his 20-stone figure) lost $3,500,000 million within a few hours in London’s Aspinall’s casino.

He has since stated that he now understands that his gambling behavior was rooted in a desire to escape and has expressed regret over his careless decisions.

Charles Barkley -2.5 million
American Basketball star and NBA analyst Charles Barkely is famous for his passion on the court, as well as his gusto at the blackjack table. He claims to have lost more than 30 million to his gambling habit over time, including a record loss of $2,500,000 in a matter of hours. Barkely says that he has since learned to quit while he is ahead.

Conclusion
Most people can only dream of being wealthy enough to gamble such huge sums of money with such wanton disregard for the risk they are taking. But, like these millionaire moguls, most of us have experienced a loss at some point or another.

The good news is that it doesn’t take a million-dollar bet to win the million-dollar jackpot. You never know when lady luck might smile on you. Specially if you play at choiceonlinecasino online casino. After reading the points mentioned above, it is clear that with the help of tips the chance of winning increases.
