LONDON, UK.- Tate Modern has commissioned sculptor Rachel Whiteread to create the latest artwork to fill the Tate Modern gallery's giant turbine hall. Rachel Whiteread won the Turner Prize in 1993. She will be the sixth artist to fill this space. Artists Anish Kapoor, Olafur Eliasson and Juan Munoz have already exhibited there. Whiteread stated this was "an enormous challenge", but did not give details on her project. The work will be on view for more than five months, just after Bruce Nauman's sound installation Raw Materials ends on May 2.

Rachel Whiteread said, “The space is like no other - gargantuan and enveloping. I hope to challenge the space by developing a degree of intimacy, which somehow relates to all our lives."
