5 Casinos That Feature the Best Art Collections

Great works of art have a place in the casino world. In fact, five top casinos that feature art collections show that casino art can even have a prominent place. Most of the casino art destinations we list here are in Las Vegas. But we also take you to London and Paris for other wonderful examples of art blending with casino gambling. The highest-rated online casino has grasped the importance of the compelling edge that an artistic tone can bring to websites and games.

The Combination of Art and Gambling
Art and casino gambling has held a relationship throughout history. Works of both classic and modern art have often depicted gambling at card games, dice games, roulette, and more.

But gambling is not necessarily the subject matter for casino art collections. Art is simply an alluring addition to the ambiance.

As casinos have competed for business, the importance of creating an inviting atmosphere has become more prevalent. For many casinos, that has meant the addition of fine art to the venue. The casinos we list here, employ artworks to add to the thematic atmosphere of the establishment.

Here are the casinos that exemplify the notion of art enhancing the casino experience:

The Bellagio in Las Vegas
If you are wondering which casino in Las Vegas has the best art, the Bellagio has to get a first look.

When the casino opened on the Vegas Strip in 1998 with major works of art on display, it took both the art world and casino world by surprise. It was the first in the city to match major works of art with a casino gambling venue. Now the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is famous as the defining example of Las Vegas casino art.

The gallery is home to pieces by Monet, Hockney, and Picasso, among others. The staff collaborates with other museums and art organizations from around the world to maintain a rotation of periodic displays.

To add even more to the atmosphere of this casino, there is also The Conservatory botanical garden, a nice escape from the din of the casino floor. It all makes the Bellagio a good stop for any Vegas visitor.

The Hippodrome Casino in London
The oldest building on our casino art tour, the Hippodrome in Leicester Square has been through numerous transformations in its 120 years.

The latest update was in 2012 when the venue reopened with one of the more unusual art exhibits in the world. The main area of the casino has an eye-catching 57 panels of digital art crafted by the establishment’s digital artist in residence, Thomas D Gray.

The architecture and design of the interior of the casino enhance the whole experience.

Many other works of more traditional art are located throughout the building.

Palms Casino in Las Vegas
From the faux balloons that spell out the name at the entrance of this casino/resort, the entire venue says art - and distinctly contemporary art.

More than 30 artists are represented here, including Andy Warhol, Richard Prince, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

“The Unknown,” Damien Hirst’s controversial work, is a 13-foot shark trisected into square containers displayed above the casino’s main bar.

The entire complex is dotted with paintings, murals, sculptures, and street art to form one huge gallery that makes the casino practically a sidelight.

Casino de Paris
You may not be able to gamble at The Louvre, but you can certainly get a taste of fine art at Casino de Paris. The whole hall is adorned with ageless sculptures and oil paintings.

At 16 Rue de Clichy, the venue is now known more for hosting performance arts than for a gambling hall. Its unique casino art attraction reflects that. A collection of classic poster art by lithographers such as Erté and Jules Chéret recall the various performance acts that have entertained the city through the years.

The Aria Casino in Las Vegas
The two gently waved highrises that make up this complex are works of art in themselves. They stand out day or night, even on The Strip.

But both the interior and exterior of the buildings harbor as much significant artwork as any casinos in Las Vegas. Almost everywhere you turn, including lobbies, rooms, and the casino, there is engaging scenery.

The Aria Fine Art Collection hosts works by acclaimed painters, sculptors, and installation artists such as Richard Long, Frank Stella, Henry Moore, Nancy Rubins, and Maya Lin. The exterior is home to the first public-space art collection in the city. Moore’s “Reclining Connected Forms” is the centerpiece of the collection.

Conclusion
Casinos have always offered an artistic ambiance. After all, spinning wheels, mysterious face cards and rolling dice all hold surrealistic symbolism.

With the growth and competition of online gambling, online casino developers can treat you to their own version of casino art.

Nowadays, a tour through the top-rated online casinos invokes a welcoming and vibrant experience. These online destinations can bring stunning designs right to your PC or mobile device.
