Hand Made Paintings Are Better Than Digital Prints, And Here's Why!

Home decoration is something that almost everyone indulges in. As most of us don’t get to pick how our home is built, we tend to decorate it with furniture, wall fixtures, books, decorative objects like vases to make it our own. This process of decoration also gives us a way of expressing our personality through our homes. When it comes to decorating a wall, however, there is nothing better than a high-quality painting. But many people get confused between Paintings on canvas and digital prints and wonder which one they should buy.

The differences between the two are fairly major, and going one way or the other can drastically change the look and feel of your home. Oil paintings and Paintings, in general, are considered a better investment than digital prints. This is also not just a matter of preference. There are tangible real-world reasons why a handmade canvas painting is better than a digital print. Let’s take a look at a few of these reasons and figure out if this claim is true or not.

Aesthetic appeal:
While it is true that digital prints know no bounds, the atmosphere created by a handmade painting is something else entirely. The authenticity of a hand-crafted work of art exudes a sophisticated vibe that is difficult or even impossible to replicate with digital artwork, no matter how good it is. This is also the reason why a painting on canvas fits almost every kind of home, and every kind of wall within that home, whether it’s white drywall or a dark brown wooden one.

Uniqueness:
A digital print can look fantastic in some situations, and the range of digital illustration and art is way broader than hand-drawn, but when you own a piece of handmade painting, you truly own it. You don’t own a high-quality first-class copy of it. You own the art itself. Even if the artist went back and redid the same art piece, it would not be identical to yours. Yours is completely unique and one of a kind, and there is nothing else exactly like that in the whole world.

Lifespan:
Digital printing has come a long way since its inception. Modern printers are capable of producing high-quality, vibrant prints that will last for years if preserved properly. This might sound impressive until you compare it to the decades or even generations that a well-done oil painting can last. There is a reason why so many family homes have a painting that the grand-grandparent bought over a century ago, and it still looks immaculate and pristine.

Quality over Quantity:
Handmade original art, by its very nature, is more expensive than digital prints and carbon copies. You might be worried about the fact that you can cover a wall with nice-looking prints, but one nice painting will cost the same or even more than all those prints combined. But this isn’t an issue, as one nice painting in the middle of a wall demands way more attention than 20 prints.
