Most Simple Ways To Get Enough Greens In Your Diets

We are all aware of the stereotypes of green foods not tasting good. Afterall, this is how it has always been depicted in the media. You think about the image of kids eating their favorite dinosaur nuggets but then setting their broccoli and peas aside or just playing with them.

Of course, this is a waste because you will be hard-pressed to find food that is as beneficial to consume as green vegetables. They are very good for the skin and can give you a radiant and youthful glow. They are also very good antioxidants and can help away from the nasty toxins that encumber your epidermis and other parts of your body. Not to mention that some green vegetables even have near-miraculous anti-carcinogenic effects. Some green vegetables like cabbage will also help you feel full while only consuming very little calories, which these green foods are known for.

So how do we go about getting enough greens in our diet then? It is a simple matter of being creative. Let's talk about some of the creative ways that you can avoid the stigma of forcing yourself to eat your greens with disdain.

1. Find the Right Recipes
The very first thing that you can try to make sure you get enough green vegetables in your diet is simply to seek out new and creative recipes. Part of the reason why so many people do not like to eat their greens is that they are treated as a side dish and not as a truly important element of the meal.

You want to change your mentality when it comes to your greens. Do not think of them as side-dishes but as important elements that are necessary to complete the dining experience. Seek out different recipes from different cultures, particularly more vegetarian-oriented cuisines like Indian.

2. Make Your Greens Imitate Meat
A newer dietary trend is consuming vegetables that imitate meat. Popular fast-food chains like Burger King have adopted the strategy of offering vegetable-based versions of their widely loved staples.

The good thing is that there are more plant-based patties and other meat alternatives that are now available for you to buy to cook yourself at home. Do you fancy a vegetable-based hamburger? How about sausage? Do you want ice cream that resembles the taste of dairy but actually comes from broccoli? It is simply a matter of searching, these alternatives are out there.

3. Think Outside the Box
Of course, the most important thing is that you simply have to think outside the box. If you really cannot find an enjoyable way to eat your vegetables, how about taking them in the form of dietary supplements or even a smoothie?

If you look online there is no doubt you will find plenty of food alternatives such as greens powder. With these, you do not even have to sit down for a meal for you to enjoy it and make sure you get enough greens in your system. You can consume it in a matter of seconds or even take it with you to work or school to take later.

The main thing to take away here is that you are indeed what you eat. If you cannot find a way to add healthier elements to your diet, you simply cannot expect to feel good on a daily basis. Eating well means feeling well as well living well in general. This is your opportunity to think outside the box and look for other ways to incorporate greens into your diet in a way where you do not have to find the experience unenjoyable. When it comes to healthy food — think green!
