10 Ways to Spoil Your Dog

Have you ever heard the quote, “Work hard today to give your kids the life that they deserve in 10 years?” I once saw a meme that was based off of this quote and it really stuck with me. It said, “Work hard today to give your dog the backyard he deserves!”

Isn’t it so funny how we would do anything for our little furry companions? We want to give them the best life possible because they truly do deserve it! They are man’s best friend, after all.

Check out this list of the top 10 ways you can make your pooch feel like the king or queen that they are!

1. Purchase Premium Treats
If we’re being honest, our dogs probably don’t know the difference between a Milk Bone and a high-end, gourmet dog treat. But that’s just the charm of pups! They love us no matter what.

Head over to your nearest pet store and pick up some premium treats for your baby. Some pet stores offer homemade and personalized dog bones, and some pet stores will carry high-end biscuits made in real doggie bakeries.

Your dog is sure to appreciate the extra snack!

2. Spend the Day Doing Some Extra Training
Believe it or not, your dog LOVES to spend time training with you. Training is an excellent bonding experience and when your dog sees you working alongside him, he is sure to appreciate your efforts.

3. Buy Them a Luxurious Collar
When we want to go out in the world and make a great impression, we usually get all dressed up in fancy clothes, right? Give your dog that same experience by purchasing a luxury dog collar that will make them the talk of the town!

Whether your pup is a girl or a boy, there’s an adorable collar out there that is calling their name.

4. Take them to the Dog Park
Dogs love being able to spend time with other dogs! Bring your furry best friend to the nearest dog park for an outing that you both won’t soon forget.

They can meet and play with other dogs, and you can meet other dog owners! Be sure to let the other owners know that you’re on a mission to spoil your pooch. They might even have some more suggestions!

5. Take Your Pup on a Trip
Have a vacation or trip coming up soon? Check to see if where you’re staying accepts dogs! There are many pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, and things to do across the globe. You can take him to a pet-friendly beach, a pet-friendly bar, or even take him along on an outdoor adventure like paddle boarding or kayaking!

Whatever you decide to do and wherever you decide to go, there’s no better way to bond with your pooch than by traveling to a new spot.

Don’t have a trip planned yet? Why not go ahead and plan one! Your dog will absolutely love spending the extra time with you and you will come back closer than ever before.

6. Spa Day!
Even if your dog has a coat that doesn’t require routine grooming, many groomers offer fun “spa day” packages that are meant to get your pup nice and clean. Your dog is sure to come back home feeling like a million bucks with his new ‘do!

Another idea is to do spa day at home! Run your dog a nice bath and he’ll be happily running around after he’s all clean.

7. Dress Them Up
Some dogs just love to get dressed up. There are so many cute outfits out there for dogs. Get him a shirt with your favorite sports team’s logo on it or opt for a sweet and girly dress for your princess. You can even find designer brand dog clothes online if you want to give them a luxurious edge. They’ll be walking around like they are the cutest dog in town!

8. Take Them Out for a Game of Fetch
Dogs sure do love chasing balls around! If the weather’s nice, bring your pup out to the yard or to the nearest park to play a good, old-fashioned game of fetch with them. Your dog will love having the chance to play with you for an extra hour or two.

9. Take them for a Car Ride
How happy do dogs look when they have their heads sticking out of a car window? One of the simplest ways to spoil your pooch is to bring him or her along for a car ride with you. Just make sure that they are secured with a seat belt or car seat… safety first!

They’ll love picking up on all the passing scents as they get to spend some time with their favorite pal—you!

10. Shopping Spree!
One of the best things about pet stores is that you won’t have to worry about leaving your pup in the car while you shop.

What better way to spoil them than to take them on a literal shopping spree at a store they are SURE to love—the pet store! Your dog can spend time sniffing around, picking out cool toys and treats, and maybe even meeting some other dogs!

The best thing about dogs is that they feel our love and love us back without any effort. No matter how you decide to spoil your best pal (even if it’s just spending a few extra minutes sitting on the couch with them!), they are sure to feel the love.

Let’s be honest—our fuzzy best friends deserve all the love and spoiling they can get! These 10 ideas are tried and true ways of letting your dog you know you love him.
