NEW YORK, NY.- Sotheby’s Wine announced the addition of six new wines to the Sotheby’s Own Label Collection, a thoughtfully curated selection of Sotheby's branded bottles, expanding from the existing 13 bottles to 19 bottles. The retail business that emerged from the storied auction house tapped into its decades of expertise and a rich network of relationships with respected growers to curate this enhanced line up. The new varietals include: Rosé Champagne, Provence Rosé, Pinot Grigio, Côtes du Rhône, Chianti Rúfina Riserva, and a Tuscan red blend. Prices range from $16.95 to $39.95.

All Sotheby’s Own Label Collection wines are now available for purchase exclusively at sothebyswine.com and via the brand’s flagship retail store at 1334 York Avenue in New York. These outstanding new wines will be available in our Hong Kong retail location later this fall, in addition to the existing collection.

Today’s launch further emphasizes the brand’s larger goal of offering excellent wines at an accessible price point and thus, opening the Sotheby’s world of wine to a broader audience. In addition to meeting the needs of more consumers, the six new bottles widen the breadth of regions represented, creating a more comprehensive collection. The wines are all defined by typicity for the region, illustrating the best expressions of each wine from their respective origin.

Jamie Ritchie, Worldwide Head of Sotheby’s Wine said: “The creation of Sotheby’s Own Label Collection has been incredibly popular, with the original range of wines exceeding 30% of retail sales by volume in the first six months, since the initial launch in October 2019. The quality-to-price ratio, along with each wine being an exemplary example of the wines from that region, has driven demand. We are delighted to add six new wines to the Collection, each one matching our exacting standards and having proven demand at these prices. We look forward to seeing which wines resonate most with our clients – and extending these outstanding new wines to our Hong Kong retail location in the coming months.”

In tandem with the launch of the new wines, Sotheby’s Wine has collaborated with three of New York City’s leading chefs and beverage directors, who have paired the new wines with some of their signature dishes:

• Hiroki Odo, executive chef and co-owner of HALL and o.d.o
• Michael Lomonaco, chef and partner at Porter House Bar and Grill
• Michele Gaton, partner and beverage director at Extra Virgin

Aligned with the first launch in October 2019, Sotheby’s Wine has thoughtfully executed the process with exceptional attention to detail. Each wine has been bestowed a special lot number, which pays homage to both Sotheby’s auction roots and essential pieces of the winemaker’s location or legacy.

Sotheby’s Wine launched their first retail branch in 2010, with the opening of both their online and brick and mortar store, the latter of which is located inside their York Avenue headquarters in New York. The store offers an extensive range, from modestly priced to investment quality wines that present a diverse range of regions, with each wine personally selected by the Sotheby’s Wine team of experts.
