HONG KONG.- Following the first announcement of No Time Like Present (open for bidding from 17 to 28 September), an online only auction featuring the very first NFT sale in Asia offered by an international auction house, Christie’s have been entrusted with a broad array of NFT-minted art, physical artworks and exceptional watches from Mr. Shawn Yue, a renowned actor and collector in Asia. His wide range of collectibles not only demonstrates his collecting journey which until now, has not been known to the public, but also presents a retrospective of his career over the past 20 years, as well as reflecting his passionate pursuits in life and art.

In celebration of his 40th birthday this year, Shawn and his friends selected special highlights from their collections for this online auction, and will donate part of the sale proceeds to support the Make-A-Wish Hong Kong Foundation, which aims to grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses aged between 3 and 17, in Hong Kong and Macau, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

In addition to Shawn’s favorite NFT-minted works - CryptoPunks created by Larva Labs, as well as Yuga Labs’ Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Larva Labs’ latest creation Meebits, the sale will offer George Condo’s masterpiece Nun and Priest, as well as an exceptionally rare Rolex Daytona with Paul Newman “RCO” dial ref. 6263 wristwatch.

Shawn Yue commented, “I am very excited to collaborate with Christie’s to share my favourite artworks and lifestyle objects with collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide. This online auction not only celebrates my 40th birthday, but also serves as a retrospective of my collecting journey and my career over the past two decades. I look forward to uplifting and evolving my collection together with Christie’s in the future.”

Jacky Ho, Vice President and Head of Evening Sale, 20th & 21st Century Art Department, Asia Pacific, commented, “We are very delighted to be part of Shawn’s collecting journery, by showcasing his wide selection of collectibles thoughtfully developed over the past 20 years. We carefully selected highlights from his collection which emcompasses different categories, to showcase his unique perspective on life and art in a lively way. The Evening Sale-quality of these lots demonstrates our commitment to bringing in more exceptional works onto our online sale platform, offering a more accessible channel to new and seasoned collectors to enrich their collection, and further marks a new chapter for Christie’s online auctions. We are honoured to join hands with Shawn to pioneer the inauguration of NFTs into the auction market in Asia, as well as to drive further conversations and development of the modern CryptoArt movement.”
