Deadline Extended For NJ Arts Annual



MONTCLAIR, NEW JERSEY.- The Montclair Art Museum has extended the deadline for submissions to the New Jersey Arts Annual: Crafts 2002 to February 22, 2002. The New Jersey Arts Annual is a unique series of Fine Arts and Crafts exhibitions highlighting the works of visual artists and craftspeople in the state. The juried show is open to any artist currently living or working in New Jersey. Detailed instructions for submission are contained in the prospectus, available from the Museum. There is no entry fee for applicants, who are required to submit the Entry Form in the prospectus, as well as slides of their work, a current résumé and an artist's statement to the Montclair Art Museum by Friday, February 22, 2002. The crafts exhibition will be titled BEAUTY AND FUNCTION: CRAFTS IN THE GARDEN STATE 2002, and will be on view at MAM from June 15th through August 18th in the Museum's new Judy and Josh Weston Exhibition Gallery. Jurors for the exhibition are Holly Hotchner, Director of the American Craft Museum in New York, Sheila Nussbaum-Drill, a Trustee of MAM and founder of the former Sheila Nussbaum Galleries in Millburn and Princeton, and Elizabeth Zawada, Director and Curator of Greenwich House Pottery, Jane Hartsook Gallery, also in New York. The Museum is located at 3 South Mountain Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey, twelve miles west of Manhattan. The Museum is accessible by public transportation.
