Discord: Everything You Should Know

Discord is a chat software that has recently grown in popularity. It's been utilized by gamers for years, but it's gaining traction among a variety of other communities, including cryptocurrency enthusiasts and live streams. With a growing number of users and mobile device compatibility, it's no surprise why Discord attracts interest from lots of different people. But, first and foremost, what should you know about this app? That's the topic of our blog post!

What is Discord?
Discord is a chat software that is available online. It's been around for a while, but it really took off among gamers in 2016. In general, Discord gives free text and voice channels to its users so they can speak with one another on their server or the servers of other people/groups. At first, this service was aimed at online gaming communities that wanted to connect more easily while playing games together over Steam. Discord, on the other hand, as reported by Harkable, has grown to almost 200 million users due to its simplicity of use and compatibility across a variety of platforms.

Discord Servers Are Everything
Discord servers are the core of this chat software, and there are servers for practically everything. These servers generally need an invitation to join and usually have varying levels/degrees depending on the server's owner(s), who can also change their settings based on what they want others in that Discord group to be able to do within them. Some bots even include additional features such as music streaming or customizable moderation commands, making it easier for new and veteran Discord users alike to participate.

How To Grow On Discord
The most crucial part of establishing a community is to have a clear idea of what you want; do you simply want to talk with your friends casually, or would you like to engage in more serious talks with individuals who share the same interests? What is the policy on how members engage with one another? Would there be any rules in place for how members interact, or would everyone's voice chat engagement (if they choose to use them) be contingent on their activity levels within your Discord server? These are all issues that need to be addressed before announcing the creation of a formal group.

Once a theme/event has been chosen, create separate channels for each topic/occurrence so that no confusion will arise while attempting to navigate through various topics without prior knowledge of the Discord's layout. After you've learned how to use Discord, you may add members to your server gradually.

It's not easy to get individuals to join your server if you're just starting out from the ground up. This is why The Investigative Journal advises using phony Discord members to improve your server's social proof via social media service providers like Gramlike. This will assist in attracting new players.

The Role Of Discord Bots
Adding Discord bots offers a way to add features and functionality that may otherwise not be available in the chat software. However, most bots need roles to operate correctly, so you'll have to set one or more roles for them to function effectively.

This is a fantastic approach for server owners to get their community more involved by adding content like polls and trivia games right into the chat room – all without leaving the conversation.
