XIAMEN.- On July 20, 2022, the "Flying Childhood" - Chen Zequan's art works exhibition, organized by Xiamen Art Museum and Xiamen Xinmeng Art Research Institute, and undertaken by Mocean art, opened in Xiamen Art Museum. This exhibition was initiated by Professor Lin Chun of the Department of art of Xiamen University, and curated by teacher Chen Yali of Xiamen Academy of Arts and crafts of Fuzhou University. More than 50 medium and large-scale oil paintings and acrylic paintings are being exhibited in the exhibition halls B and C of Xiamen Art Museum. These works have been created by Chen Zequan since 2017.
Chen Zequan, born in Xiamen, Fujian Province in 2010, is 11 years old and naturally loves painting. He has been exposed to oil painting and acrylic painting since 2016, and has completed nearly 500 works so far. In the process of creation, the tools he uses are very casual, including industrial brushes, sticks, scrapers, tape measures, boards, and even his own hands can be used as painting tools; By pouring, dripping, scraping, rubbing, squeezing, sprinkling, especially hitting, the picture shows a lot of "action".
Zequan is certainly an Action Painter at this stage of his life. His paintings have raw enthusiasm. He creates at an intersection between a meditation-like focus and a school yard activity. He found his own expression language in the continuous exploration of painting. From his paintings after 2019, we can vaguely feel the shadow of the picture being hit by props and the sense of power. In 2021 his hitting art is more obvious and based on forming, presenting the energy and movement of life on the canvas in a visual way. The combination of speed, strength and emotion makes painting produce more possible language.
Through these works in the exhibition, the audience can see the process of Chen Zequan's search and gradual discovery of his personal style.
This exhibition is more about showing the audience how much energy a person who can fully mobilize his potential can explode; It's more about communicating different ideas of parenting with parents; What's more, we should encourage teenagers to explore and create bravely and focus on positive spirit.
Exhibition time: 7 days from July 20, 2022 to July 26, 2022; It opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. and is postponed to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and closes on Monday (except holidays).
