The Connection Between Art & Design and Video Games

Since the dawn of the computer and digital culture, artists all over the globe have been tracking with particular attention the potentials of the various technologies as they emerge. The exciting aesthetic adventure that is video game art emerged as a product of the rise of digital culture. Originating from the designs of video games, video game art is a fascinating yet underappreciated genre of interactive computer art. There is a subgenre of computer art known as "game art" that creates works of art using the medium of video games.

Art and Graphics have been Improved Due to Technology Advances

Visual artists are able to tell their own tales via the works of art that they create. Some people believe that video games, which are a sort of art that only exists in the digital realm, represent a merger of science and art. There are video games where artists can truly express themselves, for example, the online games at SNOG allow people to play traditional arcade games like slots, video poker and much more. With the slot games, there are many themed games that you can play, popular themes are Batman, Tomb Raider, Sonic, and Space Invaders. These traditional games are extremely popular amongst the gaming community because they are fun, and they allow players the possible chance to win money.

Video games are the only sort of media that allow the user to personalise the creative experience while yet retaining the artist's power over the work. There are three unique entities that are associated with video games: the person who created the game, the game itself, and the individual who plays the video game. Players of these video games are required to follow the author's tale and are expected to abide by the game's rules, yet the experience that the player has while playing the game may be wholly unique to them based on the decisions that they make. If one is able to see the work of another and find a way to connect with it on a personal level, then art has been realised and attained its full potential.

The ability to expand storytelling and provide an opportunity for the audience to engage in a really interactive manner while they control their own game experience is one of the reasons why numerous creators of works of art are drawn to the medium of video games. Another reason is that players have the ability to control their own game experience. It's possible that this is the primary distinction between playing games and creating art for video games.
