LONDON, ENGLAND.-The Cartier Award for an emerging artist is a major new initiative by Frieze Projects. The award is sponsored by Cartier and supported by Arts & Business and Delfina Studio Trust, London. Artists are invited to propose a new work to be realized at Frieze Art Fair 2006 which will be produced under the auspices of Frieze Projects. Projects may take the form of site-specific installation; performance; film and video and print publications.

The Cartier Award includes: The presentation of an artwork at Frieze Art Fair 2006. Project production costs of up to £10,000. An artist's fee of £1,000 plus per diems and travel expenses up to £3,000. A three month residency at Delfina Studio Trust including living accommodation and studio, from 1 August - 31 October 2006. The Cartier Award is open to emerging artists within 5 years of graduating from a BA/MA or international equivalent. We welcome submissions from all international artists who meet this criteria.

The Cartier Award, and Cartier's support of Frieze Projects, consolidates the spirit of the fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain.
