Berlin Photo Week offers a big boost for photography skills: Over 50 talks and lectures

From Friday, 2 September to Sunday, 4 September on two stages at Arena Berlin, the Berlin Photo Week is organising a wide-ranging programme of conferences, lectures and discussions on photography every day at 12.30 p.m.



BERLIN.- Look, listen, learn and improve your photography skills: from 2 to 4 September the Berlin Photo Week is organising a wide-ranging conference programme at Arena Berlin. Highlights will include lectures by the Magnum photographers Nana Heitmann, Bieke Depoorter, Yael Martinez and Paolo Pellegrin – all presented in cooperation with editors of DER SPIEGEL magazine, the media partner of the Berlin Photo Week.

From Friday, 2 September to Sunday, 4 September on two stages at Arena Berlin, the Berlin Photo Week is organising a wide-ranging programme of conferences, lectures and discussions on photography every day at 12.30 p.m. Daily, up to 20 programme items will feature photographers presenting their inspiring images and projects. Professional photographers will reveal their formula for success in the photo and video business, and discussion rounds will highlight the latest imaging trends. Marketing and legal tips will the bring participants up to date on the latest developments.

The contents of the central Plaza Stage are directly included for all festival visitors and can be visited with a normal day ticket. The content of the closed Conference Stage, on the other hand, can only be visited with the purchase of a conference ticket - fairly priced and available as a single or two-day ticket.

A few highlights from the wide-ranging programme: on Friday, 2 September on the Plaza Stage, insiders Richard Harrington and Elia Locardi (both from Radiant) as well as David Vaskevitch (Mylio) will examine the potential of software and AI, and photographer Franziska Stünkel (Leica) will present her impressive photo project entitled ’Coexist’.

On the Conference Stage photo professional J. Konrad Schmidt will provide an update on the latest developments in the professional photography scene. Filmmaker Moritz Becker talks about success levers for professionals, there are updates on current photo law and other topics for professional photographers.

On Saturday, 3 September on the Plaza Stage, Bastian Werner will offer a practical insight into his multi-award winning work capturing weather events. Whitewall ambassador Karsten Staiger will present his photographic works. Blacksally will show how to develop one’s own photographic style, and social media star photographer Benjamin Jaworsky will present his latest projects. On the Conference Stage the focus will be entirely on Magnum Photos. DER SPIEGEL magazine will present the photographers Nana Heitmann, Bieke Depoorter, Yael Martinez and Paolo Pellegrin, who will talk about their award-winning international projects and provide an insight into their current work as photojournalists. Numerous lectures featuring impressive images by well-known professionals (powered by Leica, Nikon, Sony, Tamron, Sigma, Hahnemühle, Whitewall, Mylio, Radiant, BFF, CV, EyeEm and many others) will round off the wide-ranging conference programme at the Berlin Photo Week 2022.
