Side Hustle Trends that Fit Your Passion

It’s really amazing that over 9 out of 10 people in America have some sort of side hustle in 2022. On top of that 44% of the respondents claimed that the side hustle was necessary in order to bring in enough income to match the bills.

Factors that Contribute

I’m sure there are a lot of factors that go into that equation, but it certainly doesn’t help that inflation is that a 40 year high of over 9% in June 2022. and as Americans experience more expensive prices for nearly everything that they pay for, it’s no surprise that the cost of living becomes unbearable without a side hustle to help supplement the income.

Job Hopping

And while this may also be the impetus behind so many people dropping, in an attempt to get a higher salary; many of those people are jumping ship to create their own venture. and this is why entrepreneurship has skyrocketed since the start of the pandemic, and according to the Census Bureau; between January 2021 and November 2021 just under 5 million new businesses were created which is an increase of 55% compared to the same. In 2019.

Increase in Creating New Businesses

Over 1200 American adults were surveyed in the approach to 2022 and 43% of them plan to start a new business in that year, 55% of them we’re going to quit their job and a third we’re going to be brand new entrepreneurs for the first time

Passion Profits

Most of the time, these new companies will not align with the person‘s profession, which well that is not uncommon, it is driven by the need to fulfill the growing generations desire and passion for experiences over things.

Outdoor Side Hustles

As a result, people are creating companies for the purpose of things that support their passion, or the things that they may naturally be good at. many of those may be going back to their roots, with outdoor recreation, and activities. Here we will name a few:

Jet ski rentals

Running out jet skis can be a promising venture, I can yeild $1,000 per day and profit on the weekends, and with multiple JetSki‘s running out of time can help you scale a business. jet skis are great, because they take little maintenance, and not much start up costs. Customers love them because of the thrill, the exploration, and more time and fun under the sun, while also being out on the water.

Atv rentals

ATV renting is on the rise, and there is no shortage of people who are looking to ride on an ATV. There are multiple family sizes, and types that would love to head out on some trails during the weekend. ATVs can be a little pricey, but their income that they can generate will be well worth it as well.

Boat rentals

Well buying a boat or two maybe out of your price range, if you have an existing boat or a friend or family with a boat, renting that out could be a profitable business for you. Some people pay nearly $1000 for a pretty nice center console fishing boat for a day, and there are lots of ways to make even more money, for example if you kept in the boat, or provided a fishing charter. of course boats also come with the extra expensive storage and the maintenance, but if you’re able to keep your boat business booked, income well easily surpass the expense.

Software to Support Your Success

You don’t want to over simplify the amount of effort it takes to run an activity, tour, or rental business; however there are solutions on the market created that can help ease the administrative efforts, and booking with software solutions like an online reservation system. Some of these solutions, even come with integrated marketing that allows you to stay focused on providing a fantastic customer experience, while the marketing and booking company provides all the effort and bringing in more business to the door, along with all the organizational reports, calendars, and more.

If you are considering jumping from the corporate world, and creating a new entrepreneurial adventure; consider getting back into your passion. Maybe that’s horseback riding, maybe that’s leading people through your favorite mountain trail. Whatever that passion may be in the outdoors, Kristen shared that software solutions exist on the market, that will help bring you from zero to hero with very little effort and expense on your end.
