BOSTON, MASS.- CraftBoston™ Holiday Online 2022, the Northeast’s best-known annual craft showcase presented online by the Society of Arts + Crafts, returns November 11, 2022 through January 8, 2023, with nearly 50 artists from New England and across the country. This year’s artists offer unique handmade items and limited edition works for holiday shopping. The show features home decor, jewelry, wearable textiles, sculptural works, and basketry in a variety of price points, ranging from small gifts to spectacular showpieces.

CraftBoston Holiday Online 2022 is accessible through the Society’s CraftBoston page starting November 11, 2022. [NOTE: URL "socientyofcrafts.org" will be live that day; media previews available.]

Shoppers and craft enthusiasts can expect more of what makes CraftBoston Holiday a retail and programming favorite in New England and beyond, says Executive Director Brigitte Martin. “Craft lovers have come to expect a certain level of quality from our holiday show,” Martin says. “This year, visitors will see the return of many of their favorite makers, along with fresh faces bringing new voices and visions to CraftBoston Holiday Online.”

A sampling of artists participating in CraftBoston Holiday Online 2022 includes:

·Topsfield, Mass. artist Meg Black, a working artist and art educator for over 35 years, whose paper pulp painting method uses abaca fiber to mimic the texture and colors of flora, fauna, and the New England landscape;

·Newton, Mass.’s Hetty Friedman, whose intricately woven scarves and shawls are hand-painted in vibrant colors, inspired by the Guatemalan Highlands, where she maintains a partnership with a Fair Trade weaver’s cooperative;

·Taunton, Mass. native Jeffrey Lloyd Dever, whose intricate, detailed polymer clay jewelry, vessels, and baskets appeared in exhibitions at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and who describes his work as “an homage to that natural wonderland of my youth”; and

·Texas metalsmith and jewelry designer Dawna Gillespie, whose hand-fabricated copper and brass ornaments, jewelry, and home decor artworks are etched, oxidized and hammered to create one-a-kind pieces perfect for holiday gifting.
