Kids Spring Art Projects

Spring is a great season to bond over activities with your kids. It’s a season of renewal and growth, and what better way to celebrate than with some fun and creative art projects for kids! Whether it's rainy and cold outside or sunny and warm, these 5 spring art projects are sure to keep your kids entertained and engaged.

Flower Paintings - Spring is all about flowers, and what better way to capture their beauty than with some colorful flower paintings? Give kids some paper and paint and encourage them to create their own beautiful spring flower paintings. They can use brushes or even their fingers to paint different types of flowers in a variety of colors. You can also provide them with flower templates or stencils to help them get started. Encourage them to experiment with different colors and textures to make their paintings unique.

Rainbow Windsocks - With spring comes wind and what better way to enjoy it than with a colorful windsock? Cut a paper plate in half and have kids decorate each half with different colors of tissue paper or streamers. Then, staple or tape the two halves together to create a windsock. Hang it up outside and watch it flutter in the breeze. You can also have kids add ribbons or other decorations to make their windsocks even more fun.

Butterfly Suncatchers - Butterflies are a symbol of spring, and these beautiful suncatchers are a fun and easy way to bring some spring color into your home. Cut butterfly shapes out of contact paper and have kids stick them to a window. Then, they can decorate the butterflies with tissue paper or cellophane squares. When the sun shines through the window, it will create a beautiful stained glass effect. You can also have them make other spring-themed suncatchers, such as flowers or birds.

Spring Collages - Spring is a season of growth and renewal, and these spring collages are a great way to celebrate that. Give kids some magazines or newspapers and have them cut out pictures of things that remind them of spring, such as flowers, birds, and sunshine. Then, they can arrange and glue the pictures onto a piece of paper to create a spring-themed collage. Encourage them to add other decorations, such as tissue paper or glitter, to make their collages even more special.

Nature Prints - Spring is a great time to explore nature and these nature prints are a fun and creative way to bring a little bit of nature inside. Take a nature walk and collect different leaves, flowers, and other objects that have interesting shapes and textures. Then, place them on a piece of paper and cover them with a sheet of wax paper. Have kids use a warm iron to melt the wax paper onto the objects, creating a beautiful nature print. Encourage them to experiment with different objects and colors to make their prints unique.

These five spring art projects are easy, fun, and perfect for kids to celebrate the season of renewal and growth. Not only do they encourage creativity and imagination, but they also provide an opportunity for kids to learn about the beauty of spring and the natural world around them. Gather up some supplies and enjoy the spring before having a great summer with the kids!
