ALAMEDA, CA.- In July, Michaan’s will conduct two auctions. Starting the month off with our Gallery Auction on Friday, July 14th. Followed by our Annex Auction from July 17th through July19th.

Michaan’s Gallery Auction starts off with the Furniture and Decorative Arts section boasting decorative main stays such as Swarovski, Wedgewood, Llardo, and Nippon export pieces. The Sterling Silver section includes Justis & Armiger, Wallace and Reed & Barton. The furniture is led by an American Renaissance Revival Walnut and Marquetry Center Table, circa 1870.

The Fine Arts section has a striking collection of photography by artists O. Winston Link, Michael Keena, and Arthur Clarence Pillsbury. One of the painting highlights is a beautiful portrait of the granddaughter of Dona Letty del Rosario painted by renown Filipino artist, Federico Aguilar Alcuaz. Alcuaz was well known for his portraits of Manila socialites.

Michaan’s jewelry has a wide range of desirable pieces. Some of the most unique are a Pal Kepenyes mixed metal “Milagros” necklace and an Erte “Beauty and the Beast” Mother-of-pearl, Black onyx, diamond, 14k yellow gold necklace. Michaan’s is also featuring a ladies Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust, 18k yellow gold wristwatch. There is a sparkling display of Art Deco Platinum Charm bracelets and a diamond, enamel, black Onyx, 18k white gold, platinum locket brooch.

The Asian art section of the gallery auction features wide variety of ceramic vessels. This includes a green glazed vessel with spout, a large Chinese ruby ground famille rose porcelain, gilt painted “Children at Play” scene and two fine examples of blue and white porcelain jardinières. Japanese Fine Art has a strong presence with woodblock prints and a painting by Toyokuni.
