The largest single owned Disneyland collection ever to hit the auction block yielded big results
The Joel Magee Disneyland Collection Auction results announced – Many bids exceeded original estimates.



LOS ANGELES, CA.- The largest individually owned Disneyland/Disney Park collection in the world, amassed big results at this week’s “The Joel Magee Disneyland Collection” auction at Van Eaton Galleries this week. The three-day auction followed an extraordinary public exhibition of over 1,500 rare and unusual items chronicling the history of Walt Disney and his beloved parks. The owner of the collection, Joel Magee, collected the unique items for decades. Many of the items at auction exceeded the estimates originally projected. Bids were received from around the world during three days of competitive bidding by fans and collectors across the globe.

Among the many highlights were extremely rare and iconic pieces. Some of the highlighted results include the Original Walt Disney Global Van Lines Truck which sold for $145,200; The Haunted Mansion Animatronic Hitchhiking Ghosts which sold for $387,200; The Haunted Mansion Stretch Painting which sold for $181,500; a Peter Pan Wild Ride Attraction Ship which sold for $254,100; a Disneyland Red Wagon Inn Attraction Poster which sold for $36,300 and a rare set of Audio Animatronic Tiki Birds sold for $145,200.

Other highlighted results included a Walt Disney signed Golden Horseshoe Art which sold for $52,240; the Haunted Mansio Doombuggy which sold for $205,700; The Flying Dumbo attraction vehicle which sold for $266,200; an original “It’s a Small World” doll which sold for $66,500; the Disneyland Skyway Bucket vehicle which sold for $84,700; a Carousel of Progress original poster which sold for $51,425; a Main Street Electrical Parade display which sold for $44,700 and a Space Mountain attraction vehicle which sold for $50,820. Overall the auction brought in over $7 million.

Walt Disney changed the world when he created Disneyland. He succeeded in creating the most magical place on earth that millions love and cherish. Van Eaton Galleries has produced a monumental tribute to Walt, Disneyland/Disney Parks and the decades of history that have captured the hearts of millions of guests.
