Brussels Oriental Art Fair 2006 to Open on June 8
Second Brussels Oriental Art Fair 2006

BRUSELS.- The second Brussels Oriental Art Fair 2006 will take place from June 8th through June 15th 2006. B.O.A. Fair was inaugurated in 2005 and was acclaimed by connoisseurs and collectors alike as a wonderfully diverse, major event of high level. Brussels, as a cultural centre at the heart of Europe, proved to be the perfect location for the Fair, especially as it took place simultaneously with two other important art fairs:

BRUNEAF (Brussels Non-European Art Fair)
BAAF (Brussels Ancient Art Fair)

The distinctive style of Brussels adds greatly to the appeal of B.O.A.Fair. Instead of being held, as one might expect, in a vast and impersonal exhibition hall on the outskirts, it takes place in the very city centre. Participants include both local dealers exhibiting in their own galleries and dealers renting space offered by gallery owners in the Sablon area for the duration of the Fair. One can stroll in the cobbled streets of this beautiful historic area of the city day and night, stop for lunch or dinner, meet colleagues and friends, and (thanks to the clear map accompanying the catalogue) visit the Exhibitors in their galleries - all of them within easy and enjoyable walking distance.

The three events taking place at the same time in the Sablon have added greatly to the vitality and energy of Brussels as a centre of cultural activity.

Dealers from the USA, Australia, Far East, Switzerland, Italy, the UK and elsewhere will join local dealers to participate in B.O.A. Fair - offering a wide range of objects to exhibit. The presence of international dealers at these three fairs, each with their field of focus, adds to the attraction of the event for museum curators, corporate and private collectors, and scholars.

B.O.A. Fair exhibitors (twenty-five in 2006) will take you on a visual and cultural journey from the islands of Indonesia to the Ottoman palaces of Istanbul and beyond, and you will mingle with visitors from Australia to San Francisco. On display will be sculptures and works of art in bronze, wood and stone dating from 3000 BC to the 20th century and originating from China, Japan, India, the Himalayas and Southeast Asia. Furthermore there will be paintings, porcelain, carpets and textiles, snuff bottles, early and ethnic jewellery, Asian tribal, Buddhist and Hindu art and more.

All items on display are rigorously vetted and approved by independent experts prior to the exhibition. This serves as a guarantee to visitors that the objects they purchase are authentic.
