LOS ANGELES, CA.- On Friday July 7, 2006, the Stephen Cohen Gallery will open Summer Skin, an intriguing and provocative show of photographic nudes – contemporary and vintage, beautiful and profane. In keeping with the sizzling heat of our Southern California summers, Summer Skin will feature photographs of nude subjects shot by Edmund Teske, Horace Bristol, Anthony Friedkin, Maureen Lambray, Suzanne Opton, Robert Mapplethorpe, Diane Arbus, Francesca Woodman, Ralph Gibson, John Dugdale, George Platt Lynes, Eikoh Hosoe, Herb Ritts, Jan Saudek, Paul Outerbridge and Edward Steichen. A selection of even more challenging work will be on display in the viewing room, including photography by David Levinthal, Larry Clark, and Nobuyoshi Araki.
There will be no formal opening for Summer Skin. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 – 5pm and by appointment. For additional information on the exhibition, please visit http://www.stephencohengallery.com.
