LONDON.- Cadogan Gallery is now showing a collaboration with Dutch artist Nuria Maria. Tulle Tänne (Come here) is an exhibition of a new body of work created over the last year. Her impressionistic paintings shift and flow subtly in tone and composition, evoking emotions, weather, music and inner landscapes.

Tule tänne means ‘come here’ in Finnish and refers to the memory and impression of the landscapes and hills of the artist's old hometown as well as those of the Wales, where she lived the last half year, and the new ones to come. Sun low, winter light, summer evenings, long grass on the rainy hills, hills with flowers, leaves on the trees, under trees, sunny mornings, winter shivers, big rains, summer storms. Come here - walk here, tule tänne, drive through the landscapes, through the weather.

At first Nuria’s paintings were more figurative, then slowly the subjects became more and more abstract, while the weather has always been a significant part of her works. She tries to capture the atmosphere of a certain moment, a day in the season, a memory, a certain type of light. The colours carry the atmosphere and the interaction between the subjects: they attract or push, float, fall, fly or are being blown out of the painting itself.

“I can work with colours as a starting point, or a certain rhythm with forms, but it is the feeling that I have about exactly that moment and sentiment that I want to reflect and that is always more important than the purely visible state of the painting” she explains. This is why it can take either one day or a whole month to get the canvas exactly the way Nuria needs it to be; she can find it pretty, but it must catch a moment in the core. This show is about love, home, and the landscapes. There is an undertone throughout the series, the music we hear when we are alone, when we drive, when we walk, when we think, when we travel, when we miss, when we want to get somewhere. To get there in that place; that field where we feel home: where you - come here.

Growing up in an artist family, Nuria was born in the Netherlands in 1990 and art was always around for her. After some trips to Italy, she decided to study what she loves most in life.
