STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN.- Officials reported that works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall and Georges Braque were stolen from a Swedish home. Among the works are three works by Pablo Picasso and a lithograph by Marc Chagall and seven other works. The home has a sophisticated alarm system and is located in Malmo, southern Sweden and belongs to an 89-year-old woman art collector. Guards from the Securitas company arrived at the home around 1.05 am, but found the walls without any works of art.

According to Marie Keismar, police spokeswoman, the thieves broke in through the front door of the house when the owner was away, removed the art works and took off before security guards could respond to the alarm.

According to Bjorn Jacobson, a spokesman for insurance company Lansforsakringar, the art collection also included works by Braque and Paul Klee, and was valued at a total of $260,000.
