BOLZANO.-In its third edition, this year's Bolzano Art Fair questions the future of art and the art market. An outpost of Mittel-Europe, with the highest national rapport between the inhabitants and cultural institutions and their attendance, Bolzano is progressively becoming, with this fair too, a true center for contemporary art and the art market. With its dynamic and propulsive Museum of Contemporary Art, MUSEION (in 2008 its new premises will open, designed by a prestigious Berlin studio of architects, that promises to be the most functional and ambitious structure for contemporary art in Italy), Bolzano, also thanks to its numerous collectors, is becoming the venue of many important international meetings. It is not surprising that it is a strong candidate to host Manifesta 7.
The very name "KUNSTART", originating from the words "kunst" (art in German) and "start", wishes to express a borderline commercial and cultural meeting point, perfectly situated between the Italian and Austrian territory.
