FAIRFIELD, CONN.- Fairfield University Art Museum is presenting Peter Anton: Just Desserts, a solo exhibition of Anton’s incredibly realistic, oversized pop sculptures of desserts, on view from May 10 through July 27, 2024.

Anton’s models for his array of desserts come from products that are instantly familiar to the viewer and evoke nostalgia for childhood (and adult) favorites. Sculptures that are being featured in the exhibition include a melting chocolate-covered ice cream pop, a candy apple, a gigantic box of donuts, and an enormous box featuring a deluxe assortment of chocolates, with one empty brown paper candy cup.

Fairfield University Art Museum Executive Director Carey Weber said, “I am delighted that we are able to present this exuberantly fun exhibition featuring the work of an internationally renowned sculptor. It is particularly exciting to have this exhibition in Fairfield, Anton’s hometown, where it can be appreciated by his friends and family, as well as to introduce his artwork to those who may not be familiar with it.”

The exhibition is on view in Fairfield University Art Museum’s Walsh Gallery, and accessible through the museum’s website as a video tour and a 3-D virtual tour.

For over 25 years, Peter Anton’s iconic works have been extensively exhibited in solo exhibitions throughout the world, including the Allan Stone Gallery, Hammer Galleries, Bruce R. Lewin Gallery, and Unix Gallery in New York City; Urban Art in Seoul; Guy Pieters Gallery in Belgium; Gallery Delaive in Amsterdam; Rarity Gallery in Mykonos; Scott Richards Contemporary Art in San Francisco; Gallery Valentine in East Hampton; and Arcature Fine Art in Palm Beach.
