NEW YORK, NY.- Christie’s Luxury Week continued with outstanding results for Handbags Online: The New York Edit on Thursday. In total, the sale achieved $3.5 Million selling 97% by lot and 156% against the low estimate. Throughout the sale, seven lots sold for more than $100,000. The sale saw global participation with 61% of bidders and buyers from the Americas, 20% Asia Pacific and 19% from Europe, with participation in the auction from 34 countries and 34 states in the US.

The top lot of the sale was an Exceptional Shiny Black Porosus Crocodile Diamond Birkin 25 with 18K White Gold & Diamond Hardware, which realized $214,200, doubling its low estimate. Additional top lots include three Faubourg Sellier Birkin 20 bags: A Rare, Ébène Faubourg du Jour Sellier Birkin 20 With Palladium Hardware, sold for $151,200, a Rare, Béton Faubourg Sous la Neige Sellier Birkin 20 With Palladium Hardware realized $189,000 and finally a Rare, Bleu Marine Faubourg au Nuit Sellier Birkin 20 With Palladium Hardware which realized $163,800.

A Limited Edition Black Calf Box Leather So Black Kelly Pochette with Pvd Hardware Hermès, 2010 set a new world auction record for a leather Kelly Pochette, achieving $52,920 against a low estimate of $15,000.

Outstanding results were also achieved for Louis Vuitton trunks throughout the sale, selling well above their low estimates. Among the leading examples were two Rare, Classic Monogram Lily Pons Malle Chaussures Desk Trunks for Shoes, one sold for more than seven times its low estimate, making $35,280, and the second sold for more than six times its low estimate, realizing $30,240.

Additional highlights within the sale included a selection of rare fashion pieces, ranging from vintage Haute Couture to ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. A Rare Haute Couture Runway Prototype Brown Leather & Navy Wool Coat, Jacket and Pants Set Chanel, 1984 sold for $ 7,560, more than seven times its low estimate of $1,000 and a set of two Hermès Gold-tone Bijouterie Fantaise Ribbon Cuff Bracelets, achieved $2,268 — more than four times their low estimate.
