Munch's Scream Offered for Reduced Jail Sentence |
Edvard Munch, The Scream.
OSLO, NORWAY.- David Toska is bargaining a reduced jail term sentence with information on two Edvard Munch paintings, reported Dagbladet newspaper. David Toska was convicted of masterminding NOKAS theft, Norway's biggest armed robbery ever. Two years ago the Munch paintings The Scream and Madonna were stolen from Oslos Munch Museum. Police have suspected that Toska was involved in the planning of the Munch theft, possibly to divert police attention from the NOKAS theft.
David Toska organized a commando-style assault on the NOKAS currency storage. A police officer was killed. Øystein Storrvik, Toska's attorney, has been negotiating with Norwegian prosecutor Tor-Aksel Busch for a return of Scream and Madonna. The court would have to decide on any reduction of jail term sentence, not the prosecutor.
