GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY presents their upcoming first Multi-Estates Auction of the summer season on Saturday, June 29th at 10am with a main focus back on Contemporary and Modern Art, along with an extensive collection of antiquities from an East 70th Street, NYC residence.

The Multi-Estates Auction features hundreds of lots of Fine Art, Decorative Arts, 20th Century Modern, Antique & Vintage Furniture, Textiles, Silver, Gold and Silver Jewelry, Rugs, Collectibles, Asian Art and Decorative Arts, and Lighting. Previews are taking place on Thursday, June 27th & Friday, June 28th 10am - 6pm.


Ushio Shinohara (Japanese, b. 1932) Set of Six Large Oils on Canvas. Estimate $15,000-$20,000.


In addition to the impressive collection of antiquities from an East 70th Street, NYC residence, Art will have a strong showing, as has come to be expected at Roland Highlights will include a Ushio Shinohara (Japanese, b. 1932) Set of Six Large Oils on Canvas, depicting abstract studies in many colors, shapes, and figures. Signed and dated 1982 lower right. Sticker on back reads "CB230." [Each panel: 49" x 95"; Frame: 50" x 96"]. Estimate $15,000-$20,000, a J. Ferier (19th C.) Lady w/ Teacup - oil on canvas painting of a lady in her boudoir with paper and teacup, signed lower right, in a gilt frame. [Art (oval): 36" H x 29" W; Frame: 48" H x 40 1/4" W]. Estimate $10,000-$15,000, a Minas Avetisyan (Armenian, 1928-1975), "Evening" Oil on canvas painting dated 1973, unframed, titled "Evening", a Fauvist landscape scene, signed and dated right, inscribed and dated verso, together with a Certificate of Authenticity from Gayane and Arman Avetisyan. [24" H x 31 1/2" W] Estimate $10,000-$12,000.

Also offered is another Minas Avetisyan (Armenian, 1928-1975), oil on canvas painting of a colorful landscape with trees, signed lower right, dated 1960, with writings on back, with a Certificate of Authenticity in Cyrillic writing. [Art: 16 1/2' H x 19" W; Frame: 23" H x 26" W]. Estimate $8,000-$12,000, and an After Adolf A. Dillens (Belgian, 1821-1877) Joan of Arc, unframed oil on canvas painting depicting the capture of Joan of Arc. [21 1/2" x 29"]. Estimate $5,000-$7,000.

A selection of After Alexander Calder tapestries are getting quite a bit of pre-auction attention; the After Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976) "Turquoise" – Tapestry, a hand-woven and dyed maguey fiber tapestry, made in Guatemala, bearing tag on reverse. [72" x 96"]. Estimate. $22,000-$26,000., the After Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976) "Untitled" – Tapestry, a hand-woven and dyed maguey fiber tapestry, made in Guatemala; no tag. [72" x 96"]. Estimate $22,000-$26,000 and the After Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976) "Circus" – Tapestry, a hand-woven and dyed maguey fiber tapestry, made in Guatemala, bearing tag on reverse. [72" x 96"]. Estimate $18,000-$22,000.


Madoura Picasso Ceramic Plate. Estimate $1,500-$2,500.


Highlights in Decorative Arts include a Madoura Picasso Ceramic Plate, Colorful glazed oval ceramic fish plate, bearing impression on back "Madoura Plein Feu, Empreint Originale de Picasso". [13" x 10"]. Estimate $1,500-$2,500 and a 14 - Pair of Neoclassical-style bronze and marble cassolette urns, 20th century, in the French taste, each with gilt finial and swan handles between swag details. [21" H x 9 1/2" Diam.]. Estimate $1,000-$1,500.

Of course, a Roland sale wouldn’t be complete without Mid-Century Modern furniture. Included this month are a Danish Mid-Century Modern Teak Credenza, with 9 graduated drawers, raised on spindle feet, possibly Falster; label not found. [32" H x 72 1/4" W x 18 1/4" D]. Estimate $300-$400, a 001 - Danish Mid-Century Modern Teak Cabinet, the chest with 6 drawers beside a tambour door, with 6 additional tray drawers, raised on spindle feet, possibly Falster; label not found. [46 1/2" H x 48" W x 17 3/4" D]. Estimate $300-$400 and a Lovig Rosewood Desk by Dansk, Danish Modern desk by Peter Lovig Nielsen for Dansk. [34" H x 64" W x 29" D]. Estimate $200-$600.
