The auction will take place at the Carmelite Monastery, 15 Mt Carmel Road, Danvers, MA.



BEVERLY, MASS.- Kaminski Auctions announced a unique on-site auction event on August 17, 2024, showcasing the extraordinary contents, garden ornaments, and stunning stained-glass windows of the monastery of the Carmelite Nuns located in Danvers, Massachusetts.


Large multi-sectioned leaded glass window with religious motif signed LR 'Rambusch' and dated '1958/2007'. Lower center section opens inward, 17' H x 8' 1' W. Good condition. Provenance: Carmelite Nuns of Danvers, Massachusetts.

Established in 1958 on land formerly occupied by a golf course, the Danvers monastery was opened under the guidance of His Eminence Richard Cardinal Cushing, DD, LL.D. A year later, Bishop Fenwick High School was constructed on the adjacent property, which sits at the intersection of Danvers, Salem, and Peabody. The chapel of the monastery is now permanently closed, and this auction marks a rare opportunity to acquire items that once held sacred significance within its walls.

Kaminski Auctions will feature a range of notable items from the chapel, including large multi-sectional stained-glass windows, an elegant marble altar, various lighting fixtures, chalices, candlesticks, and monstrance's, alongside exquisite garden statuary. Many of these items reflect the Brutalist style, offering a unique appeal to mid-century collectors seeking distinctive pieces for their collections.


German gilt and enameled .800 silver chalice with engraved brass cover, original case, 8 1/4" H x 6" diameter (base), approximately 23.6 troy ounces. Good condition. Provenance: Carmelite Nuns of Danvers, Massachusetts.


Please note that buyers will be responsible for the removal and associated costs of transporting purchased items. Kaminski Auctions will provide recommendations for two experienced companies specializing in glass removal and transport to facilitate this process.


Solid oak wall unit featuring built in benches with lift-top storage area and end unit with armchair, interior windowed door and interior oak-framed windows with built in shelving units on opposite side of bench unit , 52 1/2" H x approximately 37' 2" W x 7' 2 D. Good condition. Provenance: Carmelite Nuns of Danvers, Massachusetts.
