LONDON.- Sarah will be taking over from The Line’s Co-Founder, Megan Piper, who has decided to step down from her role as Director this summer to focus her energies on her life in Folkestone.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, since an initial idea formed between Megan Piper and Clive Dutton OBE to leverage the legacy from the 2012 Olympics, The Line has grown into a dynamic public art trail that last year was enjoyed by an estimated 5.5 million people. The next 10 years will build on the strong foundations of the first, honouring The Line's founding principle to democratise access to art.

Sarah, who is currently Deputy Director, joined The Line in 2019 and has been instrumental in its development over the last six years. She will take over as Director on 1 July 2025, and Megan will stay on in an advisory role.

Michele Faull, Chair of The Line, said: “We are excited about Sarah taking over as Director of The Line, building on the fantastic progress made in the last decade and leading the organisation into a very bright future. We wish her every success. We will all miss Megan and her passion and energy which has developed The Line into what it is today. We cannot thank her enough and wish her joy as she focuses on her life in Folkestone.”

Sarah Carrington said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Director of The Line, an organisation that started as a conversation between Megan and Clive ten years ago and has grown into a deeply rooted community resource for East Londoners and an unforgettable experience for visitors. Since I joined in 2019, it has been a huge pleasure to build commissioning and engagement programmes, grow our audiences and enable artists to work in new ways in the public realm. I look forward to building on Megan’s extraordinary legacy with our brilliant team and board to lead the organisation into the next ten years.”
