Scuola Piccola Zattere presents Geometrie del Possibile
Geometrie del Possibile, Andrea Canepa's installation at Scuola Piccola Zattere.

VENICE.- Scuola Piccola Zattere, the non-profit Venetian foundation for research and continuing education in the expanded field of contemporary arts, presents Geometrie del Possibile, the site-specific installation by Andrea Canepa. During his residency period, Canepa was invited to design a permanent site-specific installation for the Ridotto. It is a space contiguous to the entrance of the building, conceived as an always accessible environment, primarily dedicated to younger audiences and educational activities, which at the same time allows for the exploration of new forms of reception and interaction with the public, inviting to play or rest, to planned or spontaneous exchange. Designed to amplify sensory perception and physical involvement, Geometrie del Possibile is inspired by the modular components of floors, transforming them into dynamic structures that explore the flexibility of only apparently rigid elements. The shapes do not impose but suggest, opening the space to play, spontaneous movement and the continuous redefinition of the environment.

Andrea Canepa was the first artist-in-residence at Scuola Piccola Zattere. In her practice, she investigates the complex processes of abstraction that give rise to languages, symbols, codes, notations and schemes to represent, translate and understand the reality that surrounds us. Working primarily with sculpture, textiles and performance, her projects often take the form of installations that actively engage the public, inviting them to explore new ways of connecting with their senses and the collective dimension.

Scuola Piccola Zattere is a non-profit space for research and continuing education in the expanded field of contemporary arts. The programme, curated by Irene Calderoni, is developed through exhibitions, residencies, courses and public programmes, integrating different lines of action to foster reciprocal influences between formats of study, production and fruition. Open to the research of cultural operatorsə from all over the world, Scuola Piccola Zattere addresses in particular its activities to the artistic communities living, studying and working in the city of Venice.
