NEW YORK, NY.- Curated by a distinguished private collector with a discerning eye for excellence, Stories in Time: A Collection of Exceptional Watches represents the culmination of 30 years of passion and dedication to acquiring the rarest of horology timepieces. This extraordinary collection features 160 contemporary timepieces from 47 brands and independent watchmakers, including notable names such as Greubel Forsey (9 watches), Ferdinand Berthoud (2), Gerald Genta (3), Voutilainen (2), and De Bethune (18). Notwithstanding their diversity, the watches in this collection are united in one aspect - they represent the very pinnacle of watchmaking. The collection will be offered by Christie’s across all four major watch auction locations – Hong Kong, Dubai, Geneva, and New York – in eight live and online sales throughout the spring and autumn of 2025.

This private collector’s passion extends beyond acquiring outstanding pieces of horology; he is a patron of the art, having been inspired by the mechanical craftsmanship behind each timepiece. To understand complicated, sometimes cutting-edge timepieces and the philosophies behind them as told by the makers themselves has been a rewarding experience for him. It is for this reason that the collection features the work of independent watchmakers so predominantly. Every watch holds a unique story, with the collector recalling the moment, location, and reason each piece entered his collection. In pristine condition and offered together with their original boxes and paperwork with few exceptions, the pieces embody the spirit of innovative watchmaking over the past 30 years, alongside some exceptional pieces from the great Swiss watch houses of Patek Philippe, Jaeger LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin and Ulysse Nardin among others.
