Turning Hollywood's past into a brighter future: A unique auction for a cause
Heritage Auctions presents The Actors Auction: a free appraisal event and signature auction benefiting the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.

LOS ANGELES, CA.- In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation is partnering with Heritage Auctions, the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer, to host a special two-day, free appraisal event on May 3-4, 2025, at the SAG-AFTRA Building in Los Angeles.

SAG-AFTRA members, entertainment industry professionals and organizations, studios and networks are invited to discover the market value of their rare memorabilia and collectible items through a free, no-obligation appraisal by Heritage Auctions. For the event, Heritage will provide a team of world-renowned expert appraisers to evaluate items across more than 50 collectible categories.

Those who wish to consign their items will have the opportunity to include them in The Actors Auction, a signature auction presented by Heritage Auctions later this year, which will reach collectors worldwide. A portion of the proceeds of The Actors Auction will benefit the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, which has been a vital source of support for performers for 40 years.

“Hollywood is filled with forgotten treasures,” says Joe Maddalena, Executive Vice President at Heritage Auctions. “Just like Antiques Roadshow uncovers hidden gems in attics and basements, this appraisal event will reveal the incredible value of film memorabilia and collectibles tucked away in closets and storage units.”

Heritage has set numerous auction records in the categories of entertainment, Hollywood and pop-culture memorabilia, including the Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers, HBO Game of Thrones® and Babe Ruth’s “Called Shot” Jersey auctions.

“This event is about more than just discovering the value of your hidden treasures — it’s about supporting a safety net for performers,” says Courtney B. Vance, Chairman of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. “Whether we’re providing emergency financial assistance to performers in times of crisis or offering career-building programs and professional resources, the Foundation is committed to uplifting artists at every stage of their journey. We’re deeply grateful to Heritage Auctions for their partnership and generosity in making this opportunity and benefit possible.”
