PARIS.- The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, which opened seven years ago and has since welcomed nearly one million visitors and exhibited more than 2,000 works, is temporarily closing to undergo renovation.
While preserving the existing architecture of the building, which formerly housed the couture house, the project aims to double the surface area accessible to the public while allowing access to iconic spacessuch as Pierre Bergés officeand improving the experience of visitors to the museum.
A new Documentation and Research Center will offer a privileged access to the museums extraordinary archive.
Entrusted to Selldorf ArchitectsNew York and the architectural firm Studio La Boétie in Paris, the project marks a new milestone in the museums history.
