SWAY HAMPSHIRE, UK.- ArtSway is pleased to announce this year’s Open Exhibition. With no theme restricting ArtSway Open06, artists from around the UK, and abroad, have responded to the opportunity to exhibit their work by submitting a broad range of artworks in various media for selection. The resulting highquality exhibition exemplifies the plurality of current artistic practice and can be enjoyed by audiences from the South of England and across the UK. This year sees the highest level of submissions for ArtSway’s annual Open Exhibition, with 285 artists submitting over 600 works. The exhibition will feature the best works - including painting, print, sculpture and new media - selected by a judging panel of Mark Segal, Director of ArtSway; Peter Bonnell, Exhibitions & Education Officer at ArtSway and John Gillett, Director of Winchester Gallery.

The winner of ArtSway Open06 will be awarded the prize of a solo exhibition at ArtSway in 2006, providing an invaluable opportunity for an artist to show work in a professional environment and to receive professional marketing and mentoring support. Laura Mousavi Zadeh, winner of Open05 had a highly successful show at ArtSway in September 2006, affording her career a significant boost as a professional artist.

Gallery visitors are encouraged to cast their vote for the winner, as the judging panel will take audience comments into consideration. Additionally, most of the work in ArtSway Open06 is for sale, which means that the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to buy high quality art from up-and-coming artists at affordable prices. ArtSway is part of Art Council England Own Art scheme, which provides interest-free loans for the purchase of artworks.
