CHICAGO, IL .- Nick Cave and Bob Faust present world renowned sculptor and Installation artist
Lucy Slivinski who created a large scale site-specific installation at
Facility, entitled Bonne Journée! In the Land of Love.
Master artist, Lucy Slivinski, creates her vision of the world entirely out of recycled materials! Slivinski has been a leader for the Green Movement in the Arts, having worked with found materials for over 40 years.
I believe in the potential for rebirth, rejuvenation and transformation! I utilize recycled objects as my materials transforming them into creations of beauty that are both familiar and other worldly. -- Slivinski
Slivinski, a woman artist, has been fearless her whole career as a sculptor. She is unafraid of expressing herself in a large scale working with disparate salvaged metals and objects. Her work is both physically tough, yet delicate and intricate. She is Chicago based, and has several public installations throughout Chicago and abroad. Most noted are her installations Hedgerow, in Grant Park, Phoenix Rising,in Uptown and Silver Surfgate, at the Logan Skate Park.
Lucy is extremely pleased to present Bonne Journée! In the Land of Love, at Facility, on view until June 28.
My vision for "Bon Journée, In the Land of Love." is to create a landscape across the three connected galleries that will be constructed on site exclusively with recycled materials and objects. It is my hope to give the viewer an experience that embues hope and possility for our future!. _Slivinski
