GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY presented its first auction of the summer season on June 28th, 2025, with a rare Pablo Picasso Earthenware Pitcher getting a lot of pre-auction attention. The Picasso pitcher was part of a private collection being included in the Multi-Estates auction, along with Fine and Contemporary Art, Antique furniture pieces, 20th Century Modern, Silver, Decorative Arts, Asian Arts, Textiles and Lighting.

Another of the prominent estates was the art filled collection from the Estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards in New York City. Many of the pieces in this collection turned out to be the top sellers of the day, with works by Miro, Calder, Haring, Dali and Yuroz, among others.


Pablo Picasso Earthenware Pitcher, Femme du Barbu (Bearded Man's Wife), 1953. Sold for $15,600.

The Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) Femme du Barbu (Bearded Man's Wife), 1953, (A.R. 193), terre de faience pitcher, partially glazed and painted, from the edition of 500, inscribed Edition Picasso, Edition Picasso and Madoura stamps. [15" H]. Handle repaired; not visible. From the Estate of Roberta Wells, Fifth Ave., NYC, sold for $15,600, while the top seller of the day was an Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976) Colorful Snake - Mixed Media, gouache and watercolor work on paper depicting a colorful snake in vertical study, the paper mounted in the frame, signed lower left, dated lower right '74; watermark along left side repeating the inscription "Canson & Montgolfier, Vidalon-les-Annonay", bearing label on back for Perl's Galleries, Madison Ave., NY. [Art: 14.75" H x 43.25" W; Frame: 15.5" H x 44.25" W]. From the Estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, which sold for $39,000.

Next, from Roland’s Art arena was a Keith Haring (American, 1958-1990) lithograph titled "USA 19-82", in black and red on Copperplate Deluxe paper, signed and dated in pencil lower right,"19/50, K. Haring 8-82" (with a Haring animal figure). [Image: 21.25" H x 29" W; Sheet: 22" H x 30" W; Frame: 34" H x 42" W]. From the Estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, going for $22,100, a Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989) "Memories Of Surrealism" Portfolio, complete portfolio including black folio case with title, cover page introduction by Pierre Restany, Justification page; edition by Transworld Art, 1971, signed, with 3-page listing of text by Dali, and all twelve lithographs on Japon paper, each signed and numbered F I/XL. [Paper: 30" H x 21" W; Folio: 31" H x 23" W x 1" D]. From the estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City. selling for $14,300 and a Yuri Yuroz (Armenian b.1956) The Scent of Her Rose Acrylic on Panel, 2007, acrylic on panel in a frame, signed Yuroz to lower right and dated 01/05/2007 with an additional illustration and dedication at verso "To Linda and Ron." Accompanied by letter of authenticity. [Framed: 69" H x 57" W]. From the Estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, which sold for $ 11,050.

A Joan Miro (Spanish, 1893-1983) "La Cueilleuse d'Orange" – Lithograph in colors circa 1969, titled "La Cueilleuse d'Orange" ("The Orange Picker"), signed lower right, numbered 31/75. [Sheet: 33.25" H x 23.5" W; Frame: 43" H x 33" W]. From the Estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, sold for $5,200, while another Yuri Yuroz (Armenian b.1956) Figural Oil on Board, with two figures, one playing the flute, on a silver ton ground in a silver tone frame, apparently unsigned with a partial gallery sticker affixed to verso. [80" H x 56" W]. From the Estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, sold for 6500.

Notable sculpture and decorative arts included an Alessandro Pianon "Pulcino,"Glass Bird Sculpture, circa 1960-1969, Vistosi, Murano, Italy, Blown glass and copper. [9.75" H x 4" W x 6.5" D] LITERATURE: R. Barovier Mentasti, Venetian Glass: 1890-1990, Verona, 1997, p. 133, fig. 119 (similar example), going for $6500, a Christopher Hiltey (b. 1953) Large Outdoor Mobile, Steel sculpture, "Solar del Sol", circa 2009, unsigned, painted and welded steel, in situ. [Overall: 98" H x 176" L, Center post: 81" H, Yellow disk: 42.5" Diameter], selling for $9,750, a Demetre Chiparus (1886-1947) Bronze Girl, "Innocence" figure of a girl on onyx base, signed Chiparus. [14.5" H x 3.75" Square. From the estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, selling for $5,525 and a Tiffany Studios Lamp with Leaded Glass Acorn Shade, Tiffany Studios New York Art Nouveau leaded glass acorn shade, stamped Tiffany Studios New York to interior shade. [7" H x 16" Diameter]. From the estate of Ronald Blatt, owner of Blatt Billiards New York City, which went for $5,200.


After Charles Cressent, Louis XV kingwood and tulipwood, gilt bronze bureau plat, late 19th-early 20th century, Sold for $9,100.

Topping antique furniture as an After Charles Cressent, Louis XV kingwood and tulipwood, gilt bronze bureau plat, late 19th/early 20th century, the rectangular gilt-tooled leather-inset top with moulded surround and rocaille clasps to the corners, above a frieze fronted by three drawers, with three simulated drawers to the reverse, the sides centered by cherub masks, on cabriole legs headed by espagnolettes and terminating in acanthus-wrapped paw sabots, veneered on pine and oak, center drawer stamped, with paper retailers label 'Georg Kofoed's Mobeletablissement', and inset plaque "Prevost Rue St. Antoine 195". [32.5" H x 80" W x 38" D, Height to apron: 21"]. Ref: National Gallery of Art; Musee du Louvre. Sold for $9,100.

And, in the Fine Jewelry department, Roland featured an exquisite Art Deco diamond and platinum flexible bracelet, with millegraining, set with 3 marquise-cut, 6 baguette-cut, and 168 round (single and full-cut diamonds, total approximately 6.00 carats, 14.5 dwt. [7" L], which sold for $5,200 and a Tiffany & Co.18K Gold and Diamond Giraffe Brooch, 18K gold, diamond and sapphire giraffe brooch, modeled realistically, accented with round diamond set hors and sapphire eyes, signed a plaque "Tiffany & Co. 1991 Germany 750", 14.3 dwt. [2.5" H x 1.5" W], selling for $2210.
