CINCINNATI, OH.- Visionaries + Voices will host Chloe Greenberg as our 2025 Artist in Residence! Selected through a juried process including staff and over 30 participating V+V artists, Chloe is a Cincinnati-based childrens book illustrator and collage artist known for her vibrant, painterly constructed paper assemblages.
Over the course of 6 weeks, Greenberg has spent 3-4 days per week working and collaborating with artists at both V+V studios. Knowing each artist has their own unique aesthetic approach and stylistic quirks, the work shes making expands on how differences are necessary and crucial to illustrating a personalized piece of painterly collage.
Greenberg says of her time so far working in both studios, I think its refreshing that many of the artists make art with little to no inhibitions; they just make art because they enjoy it. They arent making themselves meet certain standards that are required of artists by the art world. Ive been wanting to work more freely and without nagging perfectionism, and as Ive been working on projects within the residency, it has felt really nice to be aware of the fact that my work does not have to be perfect.
The residency will culminate in a collaborative exhibition, showcasing works created in tandem with V+V artists. Join us for the Opening Reception on July 25 to experience the joyful results of this creative exchange.
