LOS ANGELES, CA.- Julien's Auctions presents The Larry King Collection, an exclusive tribute to the legendary life and career of broadcast giant, Larry King. A historic archive of nearly 400 artifacts representing King's storied six-decade reign in radio, print, and television, including his groundbreaking tenure as host of CNN's long-running show Larry King Live, that catapulted King and the news network to worldwide fame, his popular USA Today columns, and call in radio program, The Larry King Show, to his streaming talk show Larry King Now, as well as items from the over 50,000 high-profile interviews King conducted with U.S. presidents, international celebrities, statesmen, and everyday people, will be offered for the first time to the public on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in a live and online auction event in Los Angeles and online at juliensauctions.com.
Artifacts from prestigious awards to historic memorabilia celebrating the Peabody and Emmy-winning master of the conversational interview, whose distinct newsman style and legacy made King as famous as his guests, will be highlighted. Also featured are King's personal collection of Dodgers items showcasing his lifelong devotion to the storied baseball team and both King's and the Dodgers trajectories from their native Brooklyn to their move to Los Angeles. Artwork, correspondence, and signed books from celebrity guests and friends, from Frank Sinatra to Elizabeth Taylor to JFK Jr., as well as King's signature on-air looks such as two pairs of his sartorial suspenders worn in the 1990s will also be presented.
Art Work:
A 1980s signed limited edition print of colorful multi-hued rectangular blocks by Frank Sinatra ($4,000-$6,000), whom King first interviewed in the early 1960s, and many times on Larry King Live.
A 1990s signed still life painting of a fishbowl and vase of flowers by Tony Curtis ($600-$800).
A 1990s Al Hirschfeld signed original drawing of Larry King ($1,000-$2,000)
An enormous 1990s self-portrait of King rendered in thousands of multicolored jelly beans weighing approximately 75 pounds ($1,000-$2,000)
Awards:
The 1992 Peabody Award presented to Larry King by the 'Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication' of The University of Georgia for achievement related to "Larry King Live: Election Coverage 1992" where he famously interviewed Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ross Perot ($500-$700)
The 1988 Cable Ace Award presented to King by The National Cable Television Association for best "Talk Show Series / Larry King Live / CNN" in 1988 ($500-$700) one of the 10 Cable Ace Awards King would win as host of his long-running talk show on CNN
2009 Radio & TV News Association of Southern California Award, 2009 Radio & TV News Association of Southern California Award, 1994 National Broadcasters Hall of Fame Award and other awards honoring his lifetime of excellence in radio and television (range from $300-$600 each)
Kings Friars Club awards: his 2011 award ($600-$800) including programs depicting the famous attendees of Kings ceremony such as Joan Rivers, Katie Couric, Kathy Griffin, Regis Philbin, Matt Lauer, and Donald Trump (who handed the award to King); and his 2016 award for "Extraordinary Humanitarian Endeavors" held on September 21, 2016 ($200-$300)

A handwritten letter on personalized notepaper with a Presidential emblem (July 25, 1998), from Gerald Ford ($200-$300)
A handwritten note from John F. Kennedy, Jr. on "George" magazine notecard (1995) with two May 2001 issues" of "George" magazine featuring the magazine editor JFK, Jr. on the cover as well as images of King on the inside pages in a feature titled "Power Offices." ($300-$500)
A group of two letters from the Kennedy family, one from Edward M. Kennedy, typed on personalized notepaper (September 9, 2008) that reads in part "My doctors tell me it's important to wear rose-colored / glasses these days" (King read this letter on "Larry King Live" on August 26, 2009, the day after Kennedy's death); the second from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., handwritten on personalized notepaper, dated "11/19/90", reading in part "Dear Larry, / Thank you for having me / on your show / Sincerely, / Bobby Kennedy"; both were framed and hung in King's home office ($100-$200)
A typewritten letter on Donald Trumps personal stationery, signed by Trump (July 15, 1999) that reads "...I would like to thank you for / the beautiful flowers that you sent in honor of my father" [Fred Trump died in June, 1999] "Love / Donald"

Kings signed baseballsthe lifelong Dodgers fan collected such as a 2000s Sandy Koufax signed "Sandy Koufax / 40 Shutouts" baseball ($200-$300) (photo right) and a 2000s Tommy Lasorda signed baseball ($200-$300)
A group of items celebrating the legendary Los Angeles Dodgers sportscaster Vin Scully including a Vin Scully signed baseball, and "Vin Scully 1950-2014 65th Anniversary and "Vin Scully / Ring of Honor Ceremony / May 3, 2017 / Dodger Stadium" microphone statuettes ($300-$500)
A 2000s personalized Larry King Dodgers baseball jersey emblazoned with number "20" and "King" worn by King many times, including on July 25, 2009 when he attended the Hollywood Stars Celebrity Softball Game hosted by the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium ($100-$200)
