NEW YORK, NY.- The gallery announced that Anna Ruth Yates and Jake Zellweger have joined the gallery as Director and Assistant Director, respectively. In addition to overseeing sales, they will work alongside founder Marc Straus to shape the gallery’s exhibition program at its Lower East Side and Tribeca locations. Ruth Yates joins the gallery from Tara Downs and Zellweger from Petzel, bringing decades of experience in curation and gallery leadership.

“We are thrilled to welcome Anna and Jake to our growing team,” says founder Marc Straus. “Both bring unique experience and perspectives on contemporary art formed through the distinct paths they’ve forged in their careers. Their skills will be instrumental in leading the continued expansion of our gallery's offering.”

After completing a master’s degree from SOAS University of London, Yates held leadership positions at Tara Downs and GRIMM Beyond her gallery roles, Yates is the co-founder of Plein Ventures, an initiative supporting climate awareness through arts programming. Through her practice as a curator, she examines how humans connect with place and how that relationship develops through the creation of art. Yates’ approach speaks to the gallery’s represented artists, many of whom make work that is tied directly to their local or ancestral culture.

Jake Zellweger joins the gallery from Petzel. Zellweger began his career at Metro Pictures, where he worked until the gallery’s closure in 2021. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from The New School, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Psychology from New York University.
